  • No wonder consoles are just not as appealing anymore.

We used to get systems, that were purposefully designed to only play games, but do it phenomenally well. That shit absolutely defined an entire generation of gaming.

Now we get a crippled PC, with dorito ads on the dashboard

  • Power corrupts people. On top of that, the capitalist machine isn't satisfied with "just okay" performance. It's infinite growth, or nothing. Once you hit the upper limit of what you can deliver, you start delivering the same, but with a lot of cut corners

  • I would not, in good conscience, ever recommend a Dell machine to anyone anymore. Not only the design and build quality have gone down catastrophically, but Dell would take literally every opportunity they have to fuck you over.

XPS machines in particular have a solid history of being good on paper, but a nightmare, once you ever need to contact them about issues

  • Ironically, in reality it's the exact opposite. The home version is pumped to the brim with this dogshit, while the Enterprise version is stripped to the bare necessities. They likely know that other corporations have the balls to sue them for all kinds of reasons

  • I was toying around with the idea of doing my classes and early dev work on linux, hearing it's got a lot less roadblocks and annoyances, and that checked out.

I've been running it on all of my systems as main OS since not too long after that, and don't intend to go back

  • This is one of the best games I have ever played. I know this phrase goes around every day, but I wholeheartedly mean it.

This is the type of game you can only place once, and the experience is incomparable to much of anything else

  • They are what you make of them. I have three 3b+ units sitting upstairs, one of which runs my entire media stack, and the second is mostly just for Pihole, and the last is for general tinkering I might need. The pin array is awesome to have.

No one's arguing they are low performance (although a 5 is practically 5x the performance of a 3b+ unit), but they definitely don't suck

  • Why is it that when regular people pirate something, they immediately get a notification from the isp, threatening legal action, but when Nvidia pirates something en masse, it’s called groundbreaking innovation
