  • Lightning to lightning cables aren’t a thing though.

And true, that might work to charge an old apple pencil but I don’t think the pencil even works with a phone, I believe that’s an iPad specific accessory.

  • What accessory are people even using this with is what I’m not sure of. I’m guessing they aren’t expecting to sell any of these anyway because even in a household full of iPhone users I can’t think of one possible use for this among us.

  • Why should apple spend the time to develop features that their users aren’t asking for and don’t seem to care about? Again, this is just overblown outrage over something the vast majority of users literally don’t know or care about. If you do care about it, then you’ll probably know which phone you want anyway.

  • That’s not their flagship phone. The Pro is. And the pro supports usb3. For the vast majority of users that don’t give a shit about data transfer speed via a cable, this just doesn’t matter at all.

  • This is such an overblown complaint. I’d wager a bet that a VAST majority of users never do any data transfer from their cell phones at all anyway, but if you are someone that needs faster transfer, the pro supports it.

  • Yeah, the $2 for X deal is a gimmic to increase sales. It’s the company saying “I am willing to sell these cheaper if it gives me an extra sale.” But by applying that sale price to customers it didn’t apply to, essentially you just stole a dollar from your employer every time you sold an energy drink.

I’m personally pretty forgiving of something this petty when done by someone making an unlivable wage, but it’s still theft.

  • It is completely opposite to that in my circles. It would be weird to call people without texting them first. In fact, one of my best friends texted me to ask if he could call me.

  • Yeah, the problem I saw with most of it was that it seemed like it was mostly people just repeating catchphrases without the proper nuance to address actual issues. Kinda like an expanded “hit the gym, delete Facebook, call a lawyer” kind of advice.

  • Unless that’s exactly what they wanted. Keep in mind that people have used twitter to mobilize against oppression all over the world. The people in power could definitely be seen to benefit from its destruction. But it won’t matter, people will find other platforms to mobilize on if twitter doesn’t work for them.
