  • Now am thinking of a silent hill parody that try it's best to be as predictable as possible and self aware and it's main character being a genuine piece of shit with no remorse or guilt.

Title : the hill is suspiciously silent.

  • It's never over. Many have waited to succeed him. Some of them, if they had the chance, will not hesitate give you far more difficult choices than their predecessor ever dared to give, and it is then that you and many others will think fondly of him and curse the one that killed him.

  • I use redreader to lurk there and to follow some AI news from time to time and each time i find myself closing the app after seeing the most vile isreali propaganda you can find. It's cesspool of degenerative thinking. The nazi didn't die, a fair amount of the children of their victims toke the torch and ran with it to palestine. But It doesn't matter , At the end of the day, the crimes of Israel are the last lines of history from a dying planet, and when the searing heat of the MENA region will reach its peak, they can't simply throw US bombs at it to destroy it.

  • I imagine this being read by someone doing a duke nukem impression while breakcore music play in the background. The title of the video would be : hard reset your brain.

I might even make it if I get bored enough this weekend.

  • At under no circumstances allow the thought machine to wonder alone during a silent moment. Constantly drown it under a huge pile of information so that it can't ever go very far, otherwise it will look for a vein of negative emotions and dig deep inside.

  • AIs are ultimately a reflection of humanity. I'd rather accept the pain inflicted from an emotionless machine following erroneous alignment than knowing someone with emotions is perhaps enjoying inflicting it on me.

  • Yep, people will throw hundreds if not thousands of dollars at big tech giant for random useless cosmetic stuff. Using this late stage consumerism drive for actual good is honestly the best solution. This is not sarcasm. I actually lost faith in the fight against Hyper-consumerism.

  • It's already possible. A 4bit quant of phi 1.5 1.5B (as smart as a 7b model ) takes 1Gb of ram . Phi 2 2.6B (as smart as a 13b model ) was recently released and it would likely take 2GB of RAM with 4bit Quant (not tried yet) The research only license on these make people not want to port them to android and instead focus on weak 3B models or bigger models ( 7b+) which heavily limit any potential usability.

    1. Apple could mimic and improve the phi models training to make their own powerful but small model and then leverage the fact that they have full knowledge and control over the hardware architecture to maximize every drop of performance. Kinda like how the some people used their deep knowledge of the console architecture to make it do things that seems impossible.

    Or

    1. The Apple engineers will choose, either due to time constraints or laziness to simply use llama.cpp which will certainly implement this flash attention and then use an already available model that allow its use for commercial purposes like mistral, add some secret sauce optimizations based on the hardware and voilà.

    I bet on 2.

  • I apologize if my comment above offended you. Again, I didn't mean that at all. Look, I completely acknowledge everything you said as truths and that's why I understand and respect people that go overboard with their privacy, they're not crazy conspiracy theories believers but instead are very knowledgeable people that have genuine concerns based on real facts and events. But you need to understand that you are chasing an uncatchable rabbit that's taking you into deeper and deeper levels of paranoia. The connection you made about youtube links waking up your smartTV is plausible in a very cyberpunk twisted way, yes,and so are many other dystopic ideas, but it is also very far fetched and extremely unlikely because security researchers would've discovered such horrible thing sooner or later and it wouldn't be worth it.

In a perfect world, everything would be transparent but it isn't the case, so you should absolutely take care of your privacy, but not obsesse over it.
