It has, but not by much. Unemployment is lower, minimum wage has been raising above inflation. Worth to mention that several campaing promises went unfullfilled, unsurprisingly. Next year's election has a fair chance of being won by the far right again, with a little help from Trump and his big tech cronies. Hard times ahead...

I quite enjoy this blog: The Luddite, an anticapitalist blog by a guy/gal who does IT. Owner doesn't post frequently but it's always a good read whenever a new text is up

Nobody who survives those societies into middle age cares enough to help one another or even organize for their own betterment.

Many are just too exhausted to do anything while slaving away, just trying to get by. Any effort to organize is sabotaged by those in positions of power. The system actively works against us...

Well duh. You can apply for asylum without a passport. Now try to bridge the ~8k miles from Russia to Ecuador without one, while trying to avoid being deported to the USA, and see how far you'll get. Best case, you'd be stuck for years in some embassy like happened to Julian Assange.

But there are many diplomatic avenues to get from one sympathetic country to another for a legitimate asylum claim.

This is not how things happened. He got stranded in Russia when the USA cancelled his passport, he was en route to Ecuador (at the time they had a government that was willing to give him asylum).
