Of all magazines and journals I have come across, Nature is one where paying for a subscription is actually worth it if you have an interest in science. Many magazines (e.g. The Economist) charge £20/month for a single publication; with nature you get access to their whole library of peer-reviewed articles for around the same price.
People here are against online advertising (rightly so) but it's bizarre that they also complain when an organization tries to support itself with subscriptions. What do you expect them to do?
