  • I'll have a go!

    • A: It was the best reviewed washer and dryer on Cordcutter when I needed to replace ours.
    • B: Because getting a notification on your phone that your clothes are done is cool, and being able to start a load from your phone from anywhere is cool.
    • C: It doesn't need to be connected. As a matter of fact, they stopped connecting to WiFi after about a year, and now they just work like a normal washer and dryer set. I miss the notifications, but not enough to try and figure out how to get them back online.
  • I don't think steam has any anti-competitive behavior that I'm aware of.

Fortnite has roughly 100 million more monthly active users than steam, to say nothing of every piece of software running Unreal Engine, Epic is huge.

  • The multi-billionaire owner with the backing of the Chinese government is claiming that he's the underdog against a popular company/piece of software/GabeN. He's made some poor choices interacting with the community.

Yes, it's probably nice for a publisher to have a guaranteed income, which is why they sell exclusivity. It leaves a sour taste in my mouth, so I choose not to support it.

The rest about the launcher being bad sounds unhinged to me, but some people are really into that.

They bought Rocket League and actively made it worse.

  • They make among the safest cars ever sold, but don't let facts get in your way.

SpaceX, once again, is providing low cost rockets for NASA, reducing our dependence on Russia for spaceflight, and saving tax payers billions.

It's honestly odd that you can't recognize that just because you don't like the guy doesn't mean he hasn't contributed.

I can say all that while still despising the racist stuff. Fucking weird, right?

  • Everything I've learned about Elon musk since the Thai cave incident has been against my will.

He bought Twitter and I deleted my account. I don't know what he does on a daily basis, or what he says until it gets posted here, unlike you morons that keep engaging with him. I also don't know what's happening on Parler or Truth Social, because there's no reason to give those people engagement, which is what they want.

SpaceX is resupplying the ISS and Starlink provides decent internet where there are no other options. Tesla sets the standards for electric cars, and did it a decade ago.

Are any of these things perfect? No, but they are moving the world forward, and it is unfortunate that he's the guy at the wheel.

  • I'm not a TSLA shareholder, but I do have a model 3, and my Disney+ app was removed.

I don't really care because I don't have kids, and between Disney and Musk, I'll take Musk any day. This isn't a good vs evil battle, it's evil vs evil, where one side isn't completely malevolent.

  • The funny part is volleyball is a perfect example of how to separate men's and women's sports. The women's net is 8 inches lower than the men's. The men are still faster/stronger and hit harder, and the women's games are still fun to watch. Why not alter the playing field since the sexes aren't physically equal? Make the NBA hoop lower, make the women's soccer field smaller. There is a lot that can be done.

  • I dual boot arch and windows 11 at home. In World of Warcraft arch is behind, and I haven't figured out what the problem is. Something just feels off with it. With any luck they'll continue to improve compatibility. (likely Nvidia driver diff)

  • I make $17k more than I did in 2016, but according to the inflation calculator, I make $15k less than I did in 2016.

The underlying health and future prospects of the economy being positive is great, but things are just eye wateringly expensive compared to a few years ago.
