Terrible sleep last night (yeah we got the wind as well) blends into a terrible day (left the basket of washing outside because I'm a moron) into a terrible work day (people doing stuff they shouldn't) and tomorrow my little one is having surgery and gotta drive to Launceston and be there at 7am. It's a 2 hour drive. I'm considering seeing if I can get a last minute deal for a room.

Is a flight to China from Melbourne really about 9 hours? I swear I thought it would be like 15 for some reason. Hell, I figure flying one side of China to another is like 7 hours.

Is anyone here a teacher/recently completed their education degree? I have a question about practicum placement.

This may be only applicable to Swinburne Online but figure I'd ask anyway.

Currently, I do 2 units a trimester and find that comfortable enough with balancing a full time job and a part time child. I'm planning the next few years to get an idea on course work, which units are available in which trimester, etc, and in between all that I have the practicum placements.

Regarding the placement, I'm looking at the unit info and its a full 12 week unit, with 20 days placement and 2 assessments (with 0% weighting - makes no sense, typo or whatever) and was wondering how intense this unit might be because I was thinking if I can squeeze it into a trimester and have 2 units plus the placement unit I can shorten my study plan to get my degree from mid-2028 to early 2028 or even end of 2027.

Hopefully this makes sense.

(also no idea how I am going to get 20 days off x 4 placements with work but that's another matter.)

If I were Prime Minister, I would make it law that if a Public Holiday falls on a Tuesday/Wednesday or Thursday, than the rest of the week is also a day off. Who has the motivation to work today?

I need some advice because I lack the most basic of social awareness:

I've been texting someone, only a couple of times so far, but I have just realised I've spelled their name wrong the two times I've used it (has a j instead of a y. The y-version is the one I've always seen so I guess I skipped over it). I feel bad and I know it makes me feel awkward if someone gets my name wrong. I want to apologise but then I feel like if I bring it up, I'm bringing attention to something they maybe not noticed?
