I suddenly want to watch Die Hard 3 now.

Right! I'm hoping they are very creative and it's not reflective of something going on in their lives.

I ran a short story competition at some schools for the kids to win copies of my books and I'm reading through the entries today and man, kids are morbid. It's kind of funny how wild their imaginations get.

And one of them had a genuinely sad and depressing ending. It was a story about a girl and her mum and it mentions she doesn't know where he dad is and how she wishes she had a sister and then bed creatures attack her and kill her mum and she runs away but theres more monsters and she runs back into the house and lays on her bed ending it with 'why should I save myself. I've lost everything I've loved.'

I liked The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014), and Lake Mungo (2008) was exceptional, definitely recommend them both.

I have both of them on my list to watch! I'll move them up the order.

Been in a found footage/handheld cam horror mood lately and watched what I think might be the worst movie I've ever seen called Dashcam.

It actually does a good (if not repetitive) job of jump scares but my god, the main character is such a piece of crap. The main character uses the same name as the actor and it's set during covid and she's anti-vax, anti-mask, etc. (apparently not too far off this persons personality), she steals her friends car, steals food, has zero redeemable qualities and to make it worse as she is being chased by this parasite/monster thing she starts uttering these random phrases like 'cm on my tts, fk me in a' etc. It is so so cringey.

Worst of all ::: spoiler spoiler She's the only survivor. :::

Two others I watched are Unfriended, and Deadstream which were both good and I recommend them.

I kinda get like it when I have the flu but I haven't been sick for yonks.

Must be post effects/long covid. I havent been (noticably) sick for ages.

Had the weirdest 'sleep' these last two nights. It's been a struggle to get to sleep and when I do I feel like I have been awake the entire time, like my mind is still going and only my eyes are closed.

Yet I am not tired at all so I must be actually sleeping but it is a really weird feeling.

Heading to Melbourne on Thursday, does anyone know of any good used book stores? I believe the one in Warrandyte is still operating? And I know the one in the city in the basement (which is huge but didnt have anything I was looking for :S)

I am super keen on Out of Sight in 4k arriving in the mail today or tomorrow. One of my favourite movies (and books) suave as hell George Clooney in 4k...yes please.

I finished writing a new short story and even made the cover myself!

Tasmania, 1877.
