  • Third-person shooters suck. The character model gets in the way of seeing and I don't need to see the super tacticool costumes. And the more decent third-person shooters switch to first-person for aiming down the sights anyway.

Cards in video games suck. Unless it's simulating a real card game. Otherwise we don't need powerup cards and such, use some other mechanic. My level 89 death knight doesn't need to be pulling cards out of his pockets.

Motion blur, vignetting, depth of field, lens flare, none of these should be the default. Show me the game world clearly.

  • Furniture stores are infamous for that. They make a big deal of closing down for a day and marking every item in the store with a big discount, but what they don't tell you is they jack the price way up first before applying the discount.

  • IME Amazon has worse prices on a lot of stuff lately. It's mostly just convenience at this point.

  • It was an external USB adapter but Manjaro didn't like it. But yeah that one thing isn't enough to give up Linux. Windows keeps killing certain printers when Windows updates, that is a fair amount of trouble to fix sometimes too.

  • Strategy, space sim, driving, open world.

  • Installing Linux is fun unless it doesn't like your wifi adapter and you're a noob.

  • Back left pocket. Front pockets feel more linty and my phone is tall so sometimes when I'm walking the phone gets in the way of my leg bending forward.

  • I rarely feel like the slowness of a website was due to the browser. I mean .4 seconds or .5 seconds does it really matter? I've been using Firefox since it was Firebird and speed has never really been a complaint. People need to measure and quantify everything.

What appeals to me about Firefox is how customizable it is, and all the extensions.

  • If they can solve the honesty problem with AI maybe.

  • Can just lower the brightness on your device, then no app can go brighter than that.

  • Yeah it's nasty but I'd just run some vinegar through it and call it a day.

  • $6.5 million

For $6.5 million he became CEO of what became an $800 billion dollar company? That's not bad.

  • As a rule I never cheated. But I was a in a very tedious typing course and could already type 60 WPM. So instead of doing all the exercises I edited the user files to make it look like I did well (but not perfect) on my assignments.

  • I think generally the less flashy features (pun intended) the better. Text and links (and well sanitized) is all we need.

  • The Ferris wheel doesn't go 2.5 miles deep underwater though. And you can sit there and watch successful trips on the Ferris wheel before you decide to risk it.

  • Yeah all that mess with Google+ and all that came out of it was we lost the + operator in Google Search.

  • I'm trying to and succeeding for the most part. I find a lot of my Google searches still lead to Reddit.

  • Not really. After having been through some deaths and illnesses of people close to me, every normal day is a good day to me. No news is good news, I can live my life quietly and how I want.

As for success in life, if I take care of myself, try not to make things around me worse, and try to help others I'm pretty happy with that. In my work we make a few products from scratch so I feel like I contribute to society.

  • Now we have massively better graphics but in many ways the experience and gameplay have gotten worse.

  • That explains why they taste like canned biscuits with sugar sprinkled on them. Very distinctive taste.
