  • Thank you! Adding it to the list now

  • This is really cool

  • Thank you!

  • As others have stated there’s some basic things that need to be addressed first and who knows if they will. I believe Kbin is in a potential unique position to get things right and drive innovation. There’s the one dev but others have offered to help and once things are more stable and mature it will get better. I actually disagree somewhat with Mastodon, if you look at its public roadmap it’s planning on taking measures that will have a significant impact, some of them are features longtime users have fought against. There’s plenty of growth to be had and innovation. I’m so excited on the future of the Fedi

  • I see people here attempting to equate it with a natural attraction and or a fetish. We all have internet access and can look it up. It is in the DSM-5 and ICD-10 both pedophilia and pedophilic disorder. Especially, in this more advanced age of medicine, science and society. If it was natural I believe the corrections would’ve been made and or strongly advocated for, it’s not. What is advocated is using terminology correctly, encouraging those that experience this to feel comfortable to tell their truth and seek help. I believe some of you guys comments are very dangerous and some of the upvotes and downvotes are concerning and makes it difficult to distinguish if you are in support of protecting children. The point is please don’t just blanket label it and compare it to things that aren’t harmful, illegal and consensual.

  • There is a term for that Ephebophilia generally covers ages 15 to 18

  • If the artist is drawing naked children that isn’t for the sake of a book or something of similar nature there is a problem. This is also a disingenuous comparison an artist hasn’t been trained on hundreds to millions of children’s images and then fine tuned. There’s a lot of illegal content these models come across and then are hopefully tuned by human hands. So try another example

  • Which app do you primarily use?

  • It’s really bothersome. Particularly with Mastodon, users want to finger wag those that remain on big social, yet they also don’t want people to do the things that help them survive or express their creativity. It’s conflicting and nonsensical. When decentralisation should be pitched to creatives so they can down their content and take out the middleman which is big social. It is honestly disappointing

  • AI CSAM should absolutely be treated as such. The model has been trained on images of real human children. I’m not sure where the issue comes from I would imagine power. Id need to check peer reviewed work from those in the field but I honestly can’t stomach it.

  • Better than the full-text search that was included in the most recent update ?

  • There’s always going to be issues but to make an article due to 5 people experiencing it is very odd. This far I haven’t experienced this issue nor has anyone I’ve asked. It’s worth noting though.

  • People are happy to peddle incorrect information which is easy to find. Dorsey is on the board, but deleted his account and used Nostr and Twitter significantly more than he ever did bluesky. Cultural debt: Mastodon has the cultural debt of reply guys, FOSS bros, racism etc During the great migration a lot of minorities attempted the switch and were met with a lot of racism which was easy to hide due to PM. Mastodon also has the onboarding issues. Studies show most users are passive users of social media, they don’t want much friction just to lurk. Bluesky appealed to minorities particularly Black women very early in the process and that contributed to the growth and culture. They’ve lost some of the goodwill due to some moderation issues. But, without the cultural debt and without making decisions such as no full-text search (since changed) and no QTs, two features that benefits minorities and professionals alike turned off many. There’s also no current federation so the onboarding is simple and smooth. The culture on Mastodon based on 4 polls I’ve seen with 10k plus responses, Mastodon leans older than bluesky. Unlike what’s put out there bluesky doesn’t aim to be a Twitter replacement but more so Mastodon+. Lastly, the culture on Mastodon often takes itself too seriously while bluesky is mostly horny, crapposting, awareness raising and lots of laughs

  • It’s a public benefit

  • Have you checked out PeerTube?

  • Could this work with YouTube? I would love to use PeerTube but have access to the content from YouTube I enjoy

  • It’s not liberal then what do you call conservatives that make the same decisions? You’re just weak. I love how you gloss over the protections of your comforts. It’s not lazy thinking to hold businesses and government accountable. How tf do you think we do that? People have protested, use their votes and used their dollars. YOU are the lazy one. I’m glad we live in a different world because people and those that agree with you would still have us in the slave days and civil rights wouldn’t be fought for at all. You do understand it was peoples protests, voting and their dollars that forced many of the major movements of the world right? Not people just waiting for businesses and governments to magically do the right thing. Having people ban together despite their comforts is not magical nor lazy. You are just weird.
