  • His current girlfriend is 27 though

  • I use the EURKey layout, right alt becomes a modifier key that, among other changes, turns the dash into an em dash. It's really nice, also for diacritics and such.

  • The plastic in our brains made us think that indeed, it isn't, or that there isn't any plastic in our brains.

  • Nah just a website you navigate to and then it communicates over USB. There's a desktop app too but it's just an electron wrapper.

  • Wooting keyboards are also really nice, and are configured through a web interface. It's also a Dutch company, so if you want to buy European it's definitely a good choice :)

  • The not-as-common-sense part was referring to knowing how to look stuff up online, I think. Many people just kinda... Don't.

  • If you remote play from the laptop that you have now the performance will be better than playing directly from the deck, but the noise can be in another room. And since the deck isn't doing much compute, battery life should be great too. And you can stream at the Deck's native resolution so your fps will be higher than your laptop's display (assuming that is full hd)

  • Yeah, I'm pretty sure OP knows this - the title says it's an escape character. What you're describing is referred to as "escaping" the markdown.

In a similar manner, OP wants to "escape" sarcasm, I guess? But that's not really the purpose of the /s tag - it marks the end of sarcasm. Doing \s would imply that while the original meaning would be interpreted sarcastically, you're not supposed to. Which also makes sense I guess, but people use /srs for similar reasons.

  • I have 2h of alone time before I go to work every day and it's awesome (if a little short still lol)

Well, "alone" except my sister is home about half the time. But we have a deal where I pay for lunch and she prepares it and everything so not a problem :)

  • Same, I feel like it describes me perfectly

  • I came purely because of the correct usage of POV

  • 100 * .5 * .5 = 25,
    100 - 25 = 75% off.

  • From the article:

In Bartels' case, 19 people did so, asking courts for a total of $151,500 from him. The judge gave them $63,000 instead—$3,000 apiece.

    For $3k I'd consider it, personally 😅
Speaking as someone who may've been abused as a kid - I have blocked most of my memories from those ages, especially around family...

  • At work I have to deal with couriers who I don't talk to at length but do see basically every day. My rule is 2 chances. First time is always assuming the best case - maybe if they're rude they're just having a bad day. Second time, if they still can't behave when I'm trying to be civil, they can fuck right off and I either ignore them or get my supervisor.

I want to be nice to people but I want people to be nice to me too. If they can't be, I won't put the effort into it either, especially if I'm already tired (which given I do physical labor, is common). But respect me and I'll respect you back.
