  • Biden is a status quo guy and I didn't expect him to do much other than try to fix all the shit Trump destroyed from Obama. He probably could've done more but oh well. All we can do is make sure Republicans don't win again. But it's tough when they change laws to benefit them while they're in power.

  • I got a Synology years ago hoping to do this, but I didn't do enough research and the model I got couldn't quite decide and stream very well. I ended up just using it for backup and using my PC as a Plex server for a while. I eventually got an Nvidia Shield and just plugged in a large SSD to it and that works well.

  • Isn't all privatized healthcare junk healthcare? I mean, it's tied to an employer, you pay for coverage and depending on your plan, you still have to pay thousands of dollars before it really kicks in and then they still won't cover 100%, and insurance can still deny your surgery or procedure, and meds are still expensive as hell.

I got into a debate with a vet about socialized healthcare and I told him the military is a form of socialism with socialized healthcare. They get free meals if they eat at the dfac. Vets and dependents get free healthcare and basically free meds. It's all paid for by the military, which gets money from the government. They still have insurance, but it basically covers everything, even at civilian hospitals. Sure, you have to sign on and possibly go to war, but if/when you come back, you don't have to worry about healthcare.

It's definitely possible to do, since the US is the only first world country to not have it. We just refuse to do it because we care more about corporations than people.

  • I, for one, am disappointed in our evolution. We should be able to control every cell in our body by now and not have to exercise. But I guess this is the end of the road for our evolution lol. This is as good as it gets, folks.

  • Well Trump said way back that not paying taxes made him a smart businessman. So he essentially acknowledged not paying taxes, but there was no real investigation into that and Republicans and supporters agreed he was smart for not paying taxes.

  • Republicans have been complaining about the dwindling workforce for years. Lower the working age and start getting more kids in sooner and get 4-5 more years out of them, extend the retirement age (most people can't afford to retire anyway), and cut Medicare/Medicaid and force people to buy private insurance.

  • I've used it for a few years (paid family plan) and it works pretty well. I have no reason to try to switch to something else, at least for now. Password sharing is handy, and the Android mobile app is nice and integrates nicely into Gboard. It'll remember apps and autofill those as well.

That said I've been messing around with Proton Pass, since I'm paying for Proton Mail and other services. Seems pretty decent but I haven't tried the Android app much.

  • Yup. It's part of why they stacked the courts. Republicans know a lot of the shit he does and has done so it's their way to protect him as much as possible.

I wouldn't be surprised if she throws it out on some obscure technicality that isn't a technicality but she convinced herself it is.
