  • It's not an Instagram filter, it's exposure time. I set my camera on night mode and it took pictures during 4-10 seconds and the results were incredible

But even with the naked eye the lights were incredible last night

We arrived to the park before sunset and the biggest display was right when it became dark enough and a lot of people started arriving 2-3 hours later after watching pictures of other people and they were complaining that it didn't look as magical as the pictures. Lots of those people who arrived late were also using flashlights and just taking pictures of using their phones, not letting their eyes get used to the dark conditions or even really looking at the sky

  • For me it's the fact that I lived in a desertic place for most of my life and centipedes there have a very painful bite

I know house centipedes are smaller and harmless but it's difficult to re-train the brain

    Edit: words

  • No need for safari, I use that option in chrome and firefox. I created an account just for lurking and use desktop mode and it "works", at least it stopped bothering to get the app or restricting content because I wasn't logged in

  • 0-100F is not base 10 at all, it's just what you grew up with. I grew with Celsius and I can easily feel the difference in a few degrees. TV weather people saying that the temp will be in the 80s is less useful to me than if they tell me if it will be 27°C for example

Why would you do ±1°C if the sous vide can do decimals?

Also, the recipe calls for 130°F because it was made by an American, if you look for European recipes it will probably say 54°C. Neither will add decimals to their recipes because that's just being anal

I use F in the kitchen a lot because most of my appliances work in that and also because I basically learn to cook until I moved to the US, so again, what you are used to

  • My cat twists his whole body in a very funny way when we are eating chips to ask us to give him some

I guess at some point I made a positive reinforcement without noticing and now he does it all the time

  • Getting the windows ME installation disks (floppys) was how I started learning my way around computers. I could experiment with the registry and other files and if I broke something I could just to re install the OS

  • It should say "Alhambra in its totality", doesn't it?

I know Monday's eclipse didn't reach Spain, but it also doesn't say when the picture was taken so I was also confused thinking it was from a past eclipse

  • Me and my wife dressed in red and green since we read those colors look very weird close to totality but we got so amazed with the eclipse that we even forgot to look at each other

The shadow bands liked really cool tho
