  • Yep, only reason Epic sued Google is because they want more money. I think Tim Sweeney was even quoted that they'd make billions from it.

  • Buildapac is probably still one of the best places to get advice on pc parts.

  • Part of me believes this was triggered by them only getting one nomination in The Game Awards.

  • Chase HQ on the famicom is one of the first games I've ever played and I especially loved playing it on the arcade even though I wasn't very good at it. Chrono Trigger is the other game that I still love.

  • I agree with you actually. Bethesda level scaling is probably the worst example of what you're talking about.

  • Kind of crazy that Pizza Tower wasn't nominated for Best Indie.

  • Yeah, Yahtzee and ZP was what kept The Escapist alive (Pretty sure there was a point where ZP was their only content). Cold Take was the other thing that was interesting and they lost that too. I don't think they have any other content without those guys.

  • Epic funding games development was only a recent thing. For the most part, they were buying exclusivity for games that were already set to be released or were already in active development. The other reason why this was hated was because they bought exclusivity for games that were crowd-funded back when the store was newly opened.

  • I've always enjoyed the music in The World Ends With You

  • I live in a third world country and have to usually have to take taxis to get anywhere without being a sweaty mess and I'd love to the point where public transportation can get you anywhere in the metro, similar to how Hong Kong (where income taxes are pretty low as far as I know) does it.

  • I honestly don't get their argument. Yes, the current situation is bad and will necessitate using cars, but isn't that the point of the post? That things could be better? That getting to the reality where cars are not as needed would be great? It's such a strange attack against people who want better public transportation infrastructure.

  • Nor does it mean that the hate towards Epic doesn't have any basis. They did a lot of shit that caused them to have a bad reputation.

  • Yeah. I can play Thrill of the Fight with no nausea after several matches. I also didn't get sick from Vader Immortal or other games like Beat Saber or Crisis VRigade. Games where you move in-game but stay still in real life though, I feel like throwing up after a short time.

  • For PC, game optimization is very inconsitent. When I'm in a smaller space like a dungeon or the Constellation Lodge, it's actually pretty great and runs smoothly. When I go into the city though, the framerate is terrible. The graphics also become significantly worse. So yeah, wouldn't be surprised if a lot of those negative reviews are from PC players having to deal with Bethesda jank again.

  • A lot of these people who love defending Epic also treat them as if they didn't do anything to earn their reputation for being shitty back then.

  • From what I remember, some of the content was already on the disk.
