Teachers. It is such a widely known trope that teachers are overworked and underpaid. So many that want to pursue teaching now enter the market, understanding that they will likely need a second job at some point. Although internet kudos do little to actually address the problem, my respect goes to the teachers.
One of my favorite things about this project has been the transparency of development, and how it seems that they truly care what the community wants. And mmstick's interaction with the community has been nothing short of first-class.
It all depends on your risk tolerance and perceived threat model.
I would recommend that if you do use Proton Pass in conjunction with your email, keep a backup KeePass file stored locally and in a few other places and update routinely.
The Proton ecosystem definitely doesn't fit everyone's security model, but it is a massive leap compared to what Google and Apple offer.
In the entirety of my time using the internet, I have heard of the lack of freedom that Chinese citizens face regarding internet access. This has always been held up as indisputable evidence that the CCP is an authoritarian regime, and proof that if the CCP is willing to trample on some freedoms, it's willing to trample on others.
Just as the U.S. Congress has (somewhat valid) concerns about a foreign entity holding so much sway over such a large platform, it could be stated that these objections are no different from what China claims. If it's wrong for China to censor and ban platforms, its wrong for the U.S. to do so as well.
Is it concerning how much data is collected by Tik Tok? Yes. But without parroting what's already been said, this bill comes nowhere close to addressing the key issues of data privacy that it claims to. Banning Tik Tok without addressing the egregious data collection of other platforms is nothing short of hypocracy.
I wish that the United States had a proportional ticketing system similar to Finland, where the fine is proportional to income. $9,000 is nothing to someone like Trump.
Switched over to Pop!_OS from MacOS a few years ago. While there aren't a ton of open source mobile options, I decided to go with GrapheneOS over iOS. Fuck walled gardens.
I definitely understand your view on crypto, and I hate to be an apologist, but here's a view you may not have considered:
I think mainstream society has gotten far too comfortable with the lack of privacy in our everyday lives, and this extends to finance. A company has no business tracking the data about my purchases, let alone selling it. The government doesn't need to know everything I spend money on either.
As with most topics relating to privacy, it's not that I worry about what I have to hide. I worry about your intention with that information. As one example, if I were needing to buy Plan B for an emergency contraceptive, there is a not insignificant portion of our government and the general population that frowns on that, and could paint me as a target in the future if it was known.
What OS are you running on your tablet? I am running Graphene on my phone, and the battery isn't bad, but I bought a Pixel specifically for the purpose and don't have a baseline to compare it to.
How would someone schedule a tour? I'm not far from Denver and would LOVE to see how my thelio was made!
