When a team uses Unreal properly it can be great. Guilty Gear Strive is built in Unreal, has a beautiful unique visual style, and runs great. But you need a team who really knows what they're doing, both on the code and art sides.
The problem is when an indie dev tries to use it and does everything "out of the box". If you're a solo or indie dev, just use Unity or Godot (I've been using the latter and loving it)
I tried explaining to some of my non-technical friends what a "Linux distribution" is. Most don't quite understand what I mean by "operating system". I think we're in a bit of a bubble here.
Except that they've spent the last 6 months telling everyone that it's a choice between them and fascism. Then when fascism comes they're like "oh well, we tried".
I'm just hoping that this loss will eventually make the Dems look inward, but I'm not holding my breath when he's saying shit like this.
I don't mind this personally. The world of FFVII is huge, and the remaster has so much more detail in it. It's not like the remasters are short games, expecting the entire FFVII story to be told in this kind of detail in one £50 box is kind of a big ask.
I bought 16 on PS5 at release and it's definitely worth waiting for a sale. The combat is pretty great but I find the story pretty mediocre (although I haven't finished it yet) and the world is just so drab and full of predictable characters. This is Final Fantasy, give us some colour! In FFVI you could play as a Yeti teaming up with a girl who paints her enemies to death along with a guy who can suplex a train!
I've been enjoying FFVII Remake though, and planning to get Rebirth once I'm done with it
I'd love to see Bjarne Stroustrup being grilled by Congress about this, and have to explain shared pointers and reference counting to the same people who didn't understand how Facebook made money.
bf: the budget of the Transformers films could have housed every homeless person in California several times over. We should all consider them enemies.
Now that there's evidence it's been used for this, the US can no longer use this excuse. If they don't stop selling these munitions to Israel now then it's definitely intentional.
ITT: Learn to code and you'll never understand irony again!
