I hope someone gives you a good answer, because I'd like one myself. My method has just been to do this stuff little by little. I would also recommend calibre web for interfacing instead of calibre. You can run both in docker, and access calibre on your server from whatever computer you happen to be on. I find centralizing collections makes the task of managing them at least more mentally manageable.

You might want to give an idea of the size of your library. What some people consider large, others might consider nothing much. If it is exceedingly large you're better off asking someplace with more data hoarders instead of a general Linux board.

Not a Texan, but back when you had to have a permit for concealed carry in Florida, they had wands and metal detectors, but you could just show the sheriff your CCW permit and you'd be allowed in. I assume that's what they do in Texas too. Not sure what they'll do now that you don't need a permit in Florida.

Hah, that sucks. My bank app let me log in without a password on my new phone just using the new fingerprint on the new phone, because I transferred the app from the old phone. Course, they recently limited cross account transfers to $100 because they're seeing lots of fraud. No shit, right?

That's exactly the problem we have over here. You can't become a cop and change the culture. The culture is mandatory. They seek it out and train it it, and the ones who won't at least turn a blind eye to it aren't allowed to stay.

It's important to also point out that a huge portion of the population carries guns. There's no reason to assume that someone armed is a threat at all, and statistics bear that out. In the south of the US even most liberals don't think twice about the number of guns they encounter every day. The reason why police are a unique situation is , obviously, partially because they deal with criminals, and partially because of their confrontational and aggressive approach to most situations. It's not so much that you got to deal with a good or bad cop. It's more that you got to deal with a cop in a good or bad mood. They way they choose to interact with you has very little to do with things you can control.

Believe it or not, it's possible to act on a shoot last, ask questions first policy even here in gun crazy Florida. Literally everyone other than police officers do it every day.

I had an account with a bank that got bought. Always used the app, which worked fine, but I needed some document I could only get from the website. Go to log in and it gives me all sorts of weird errors. Support made me reset my password, all that stuff. I figured it out. Old bank would let you log in with email or username. New bank only let you log in with username, except it had dropped old bank's username and put the email in the username field in their database. The website scrubbed emails from that field, and so it submitted a null username. The app didn't l, so it let me log in. Weirdest issue I've ever had with a service and actually figured it out.

It's so frustrating too because the atmosphere, casting, acting, even the characters are really compelling. But they just absolutely refused to take any risks. It's like they just didn't get the whole point. Rey needed to become a gray character, and kylo needed to be redeemed. And they both had to live with it and shoulders the burdens of their past. Luke needed to accept that ultimately people are people and you can't expect to entirely subvert either your baser or more noble emotions and instincts.

I really like purelymail. I've had no problems, their billing is super simple and really cheap. The security options are nice and it doesn't want to sell me a VPN or share my files or any crap like that.

Sometimes fridge doors sag because the bushings on the hinges break or deteriorate. I've fixed them before by adding washers in place of the bushings, or cutting a new bushing out of a hard plastic cutting board.

They're less lethal, not non lethal, and they're frequently used as an excuse to escalate violence needlessly. I'm very critical of the use of their use of force and would generally prefer police to be unarmed, but this is not a situation where I have any complaints. That threat needed to be neutralized as quickly and effectively as possible. Overwhelming force was the best way to do that.

The guy was also pointing his gun at a whole lot of people who weren't trump. Do you extend your statement to them too because they support trump? At least many of the media weren't there to support trump. I'm sure at least some people were there to see the spectacle rather than support him. Should their value be disregarded as well just for being around the guy? I get the attitude that trump has asked for this. I don't think it's right to say everyone else there asked to be shot at too.

The basic problem I see is that we keep treating police like it's their job to protect people and when they don't we say, nah it's ok, that's not your job.

Bad take. If he'd gotten shot, the snipers would have immediately killed the shooter before he could reposition and take more shots. It would have saved a guy's life and kept a former president from being shot, so definitely not pointless. And he likely had on body armor so he had a lot better chance of surviving than any of the people in the crowd did.

I have anxiety as well. I'm not saying that your problem is the same as kine, but I'm going to tell you what happens to me so that maybe it'll make you worry a little less. I generally have a very slight ringing in my ears. Most people probably wouldn't notice it but I'm autistic so I do. If I have to increase my dose of antihistamines for my allergies, I will have a noticeable increase and qualitative change in the ringing. If I am overly stressed and my anxiety level is higher than usual, I'll have more ringing. If I get less sleep than I need I will have an increased ringing. It's not always the same in both ears either.

I'm not telling you it's nothing but stress. That would be irresponsible. I am telling you I get the same symptoms and it's nothing but stress and usually resolves in a few days once I get myself under control.

On another note, I would really recommend doing something about your anxiety. Brief high intensity exercise works well, if you can handle it. Guided meditation works well too, even if you hate the whole idea of it (like I do). The best overall remedy is probably to get adequate, good quality sleep, but I know how hard that can be. The easiest immediate relief is blood pressure medicine, if that is an option for you. For instance, if you lay down to rest you should not be able to hear your heart beat. If you can, your blood pressure is too high and you should get it dealt with, because it will absolutely make your anxiety substantially more manageable. Whether or not the anxiety is the problem with your hearing, dealing with it will improve your life, and from one person with anxiety to another: friend, it's obvious from your post you need some help with this.

For the time being, if you need a short relief from the ringing, I've found that certain types of computer generated noise played through headphones will stop my ringing, at least for a few minutes. You might want to try that, just be careful not to play it too loud.

If I had a fan that did that I'd open it up and clip off the Bluetooth antenna.

That's clever, but I'd rather mow than mop.
