I went the opposite way. Wanted to like KDE, but found it too buggy and a bit inconsistent.
On Gnome I use really minimal extensions and those get updated very quickly so it is no longer an issue for me. I also do Gnome Extension reviews so take from that what you will
I wouldn't do that on your resume. Lots of these systems detect hidden text and highlight it for reviewers. I probably would see that as a negative when reviewing them.
You shouldn't expect the next generation of Pixel phones to have GrapheneOS support out of the box. Google has stopped publishing device tree data, so custom ROMs for Pixels may not be a thing come the Pixel 10.
yeah I'm worried about that. I like Pixel phones a lot because of their cameras. Everyone who ends up focusing on one thing ends up eschewing the camera much to my chagrin
I only use SponsorBlock because I do not use adblock. I pay for YT Premium, and YT Premium views are worth far more than ad-driven views. I don't like paying for something and seeing ads so I skip sponsor spots
I mean, this is wrong. The CUPS daemon literally is a print service and does exist in Linux. It's just socket based so tends not to use resources until asked.
The CUPS daemon does not get killed during games. It wouldn't be needed anyways
You can still use the lemmy-ui frontend on lemdro.id, it's just at l.lemdro.id and not the default. You've got all the choice in the world still.
I'm a big fan of people being opinionated about things. If you want something a certain way, do it! That's the beauty of the fediverse and open source in general. If you don't like it, you don't have to use my instance!
In-general, we work closely with the photon dev to maintain feature parity with the default frontend, and we also get some neat and useful moderation features too.
