  • Socialism for big corporations. Privatized profits. Socialized losses for everyone else.

  • I'd like to see how this comment ages.

The US was protesting like crazy. It didn't matter in the end.

  • But what about the shareholders? Isn't Trump supposed to be good for the economy? Why did eggs keep getting more expensive?

The people in the back will have years to notice this shit, and they still won't.

  • Not disagreeing, but also think it is important to mention that the GOP is also obsessed with value signalling. No other reason to push the DEI narrative so much.

  • Trump will use this event to claim a new need for privatizing ATC.

  • I really think we're gonna need a LOT of "I Did That!" stickers featuring Trump.

  • One cool thing about these leaks is: if you weren't saying batshit crazy stuff, no one would care.

  • Fuck up the system enough to make it fail.

Reinstall what you need with only Party loyalists.

    Now you control the system.

  • If I'm employed as a bus driver, and I decide overnight that I'm just going to start working dispatch without approval, I lose my job.

We need a mechanism to remove representatives who have chosen to no longer represent what they did when elected. Or, we need to stop using representatives.

  • The man discovered he is immune to absolutely everything. None of this is unexpected at this point.

  • This "China's AI is taking your data and that's bad" is shockingly similar to "TikTok is taking your data and that's bad". Lots of US counterparts do the same thing, but I don't see (as much) media coverage about that.

Don Draper: "no no no, everyone else's cigarettes are dangerous. Lucky Strikes are... toasted."

  • AI is data hungry. If they opt you in, they also get more data from you automatically.

Even if everyone opts out on day 2, they get a crap ton of free stuff in the meantime.

  • My original comment was about the PhD specifically, which is necessarily research focused.

But even so, I'd argue that it is prudent as a blanket statement about grad school generally. Wages across entire classes of roles can stagnate relatively quickly -- more quickly than you can get a graduate degree -- and if it happens, you're still stuck with the grad school bill.

Entering a program which costs you directly means minimally taking significantly extra risk, and it should be presented as such.

  • The bitrate is manually enforceable on Linux, too

    *specifically using PipeWire

  • *and before Trump 2.0. And probably forever until they listen to their constituents and dump the dinos.

  • As unfortunate as the naming misdirection is, I have to say: LDAC sounds significantly better (to me) than other Bluetooth codecs I have tried. It also works on Linux and android with no issues whatsoever. Open source is good.

I use it with a pair of Sony XM5's, which can also be used in wired mode, so you kind of get the best of both worlds.
