  • This is also true of large corporations in general, in the US. Tax breaks, loopholes, and similar everywhere -- if you're rich enough. Privatized profits, but socialized losses.

  • I suspect one of two things are happening, or maybe a mix of both:

    1. Trump doesn't like the insinutations that he himself isn't in control.
    2. Musk's public image issues are now affecting the bottom lines of his companies.

These things are direct results of both men being complete imbeciles. Nothing more to see here.

  • Whew, good thing I heard there will be no new wars with Trump as US president

  • Gee, if only Mitch had known someone in some high position with an actual chance to stop the fucking Trump train...

  • I get the sneaking suspicion that all the "but both parties are the same people" are going to end up kind of right -- but maybe not in the way they thought.

From my vantage point, there is only rich vs poor. Any other ideological divide either a) has been worsened by rich vs poor, or b) was invented to keep attention away from rich vs poor, à la divide and conquer.

  • Republicans just took power.

    Not unexpected at all.

  • They don't want educated people. They want large numbers of the uneducated because it keeps labor costs low.

There is reason that birthrate and education are always top of the list (after tax cuts for the rich).

  • Tax dollars are definitely being stolen... by this unelected buffoon

  • My parents holding fast with "well, it's always been like that" made me realize how big this generational divide is.

There are good boomers who get it, yes. There are also some really dumb ones who have literally no clue what kind of world they helped create. Full stop.

  • attempted coup

Never forget: the P in GOP stands for "projection".

  • Telegram is the worst kind of "secure" messaging in that it gives you a false sense of security while not really being secure.

  • Trump was never anti-war and anyone who thought so is fucking dumb. Done mincing words.

  • It's not just you. There is a coordinated effort from Big Tech to effectively take over the US Govt.

  • Maybe it has to be vim in emacs on an emac

  • I suspect the world would collapse into some kind of singularity if someone ever ran vim on an emac.

  • Stupid people have no idea what smart things look like. They have no point of reference. Remember that.

  • The headline is updated on the article itself; USPS has resumed accepting such packages.

  • A lot of this is because we are so used to things, by and large, just working. No one trying to dismantle this shit realizes the level of complexity and the years it took to assemble.

The problems of our past will now be the problems of our future, because the people in the back not paying attention decided they knew better.
