  • Your comment is super helpful. Thanks so much. I will definitely look into all of this stuff and see what's available on Chewy. Murphy is already on wet-only, with only dry as a "treat" after giving his meds when unable to give it at mealtime.

  • Haha, will do. His Highness is napping right now.

  • I always do but my work schedule since June means my husband is the one feeding him and he is too lazy to do the extra steps of warming up the food. :/

  • What is this drink? I'm planning to buy a few different things in my next Chewy order.

  • Sounds like you feed yours the same way we feed Murphy with the restricted diet, catnip and cat grass, and occasional plain meat as a treat.

The Forza has been great. I just found it on Chewy and have been feeding it to Murphy for maybe 3 years now. His blood and kidney levels have been coming back good so the vet said "just keep doing what you're doing."

I just feel like he has been eating less lately so just looking for alternatives to maybe entice his appetite. I know he's old and could just be in decline but we will keep trying until it's time to say goodbye. He is due for a vet visit though, so we'll see what they say.

  • I do that too with the Forza renal dry kibble, use it as treats. He also has a pill I have to give him every night so I do it right before his dinner so the paté is like a reward.

  • Thank you. We recently moved so he is overdue for a vet visit. I will ask the vet about Ultamino.

  • Aww I'm sorry. We have lost a couple other seniors and we miss them, but Murphy just keeps on keeping on. We definitely spoil him whenever possible. Sure, Murphy, chew on my palm plant.

  • That's why he gets the occasional chicken, and doesn't get scolded when he gets into my husband's unattended cereal bowl. But we're not going to actively contribute to the decline of his health. :/

  • When I was first on my own, I was living paycheck to paycheck and only ate ramen and oatmeal at home because I couldn't afford decent meals.

The first Christmas when I could finally afford to buy presents for friends at work, I went shopping and carefully picked a gift for each person. Nothing fancy as I was still on a tight budget, but things I thought each person would enjoy. Then I splurged and bought gift bags and decorative tissue paper.

I left them all in the back seat of my piece of shit car to bring to work the next day. I figured it would be safe in the garage in a gated apartment complex. Someone broke into my car and stole it all.

They left fingerprints on my window, so I thought the police could track them down like on TV, but the police couldn't care less. It really deflated me.

  • Ugh, I imagine the pastor going through his sermon mentally before the ceremony and thinking he would get bonus points for incorporating how "inclusive" marriage through Christ is. 🙄

  • That first imam, kicking the family while y'all were already down. :/

  • I'm just speculating here based on my own experience, but I wonder if part of it is also something subtle in your attitude that others pick up on.

When I met the man who is now my husband, I wasn't even looking for a relationship. I was just enjoying my life, exploring new hobbies, and was in a good place mentally -- that is, I was fine if I ended up single for the rest of my life.

I imagine married people also tend to be in a similar frame of mind where they aren't looking for a relationship, and maybe there's a confidence that comes out of that that is attractive to others.

  • What's another Lake Lake?

  • My husband made noodles and kept it on low to keep it warm for me. Super soggy by the time I got home, but I didn't have the heart to tell him right then. I just ate my mushy ramen that he lovingly prepared while I was at work. A couple of weeks later, I finally did tell him (before he made more noodles the same way).

  • It's definitely a slow character-driven drama. I didn't know that I would've gotten as far as mid season 2 if I hadn't gotten hooked from the start myself. Hope you enjoy the rest of it.

  • I worked a desk job for 20 years, then suddenly shifted careers and was on my feet ask day and constantly moving and walking and lifting. It was tiring but my body got used to it and I invested in good shoes and insoles, and I ended up getting in the best shape of my life.

Then I moved and I started working as a cashier and I can't stand it, no pun intended. Standing in one spot is 100x worse and I dread every day that I have to go in to work. If all goes well, I'll be switching jobs soon. 🤞🏽🤞🏽
