  • It's easy to fix. Connect another keyboard and use it to install Linux.

That's the main problem taken care of. As for the beans, IDK, maybe bring a couple of chickens into the office while the installer is copying files?

  • Life can be tough and it's OK to seek hope but this corner of the internet is mostly atheists so you can't appeal to faith here. Even Christians agree that God does not interact with people as directly as 2000+ years ago so you cannot rely on literal signs from Them. If you want to apply quotes from the Bible in your life (I would personally advise against that), speak to a member of your preferred church or an explicitly Christian community online.

  • They are either mocking the Bible and trying to point out that many sections are obvious bullshit, which is a topic done to death centuries ago, or genuinely seeking help in a tough situation and don't know an appropriate place to turn to.

  • Now that there is an order banning being trans, I imagine there will be lots of LGBT refugees. We should welcome them with open arms; lots of them are experts that could improve Europe's standing in key fields. I think Germany will see an influx of expats (trans-friendly and most people speak decent English).

  • Very cool! The thesis does not seem to mention blinks but they seem pretty trivial as opposed to eye position. This solution is all in hardware, mine would be all software assuming the eye and eyelid have sufficiently different IR reflectivity for a normal infraport to detect. Of course, there are many other options to implement this such as a microcontroller, some kind of character display and a teletype for non-volatile storage. Or nothing but a Morse code logger but that's a little too dehumanizing.

  • The original French title refers to a diving suit, one of those heavy metal-glass ones as a metaphor to the locked-in-body syndrome.

I can't imagine the patience required on both sides of the transcription process. In 1995, it would be very much possible to write a computer program that uses reflection of the eye on the IR port to at least partially automate it. Or maybe attach EEG to the patient to perhaps allow for more output.

  • It probably won't yield good results for the literal query "child porn" because such content on the open web is censored, but I'm pretty sure degenerates know workarounds such as "young, short, naked, flat chested, no pubic hair", all of which exist plentifully in isolation. Just my guess, I haven't tried of course.
