Why is sleep so hard for laptops?

  • My system76 wont even go to sleep anymore. It just pretends, then if i put it in a backpack for a bit it is burning hot.

  • Sure, that is why I said usually. The fact that 2 people replied with the same OpenStreetMap data set is kinda proving my point.

    Also, do you need the entire US road system in memory if you are going somewhere 10 minutes away? Seems inefficient, but I am not an expert here. I guess it is one giant graph, if you slice it up, suddenly there are a bunch of loose ends that break the navigation.

  • Yea, that makes sense. You could sort it in chunks, but it would probably be slower. If you are regularly doing that and can afford the ram go for it. Otherwise maybe extract the bits that need to be sorted and zip them back up later.

  • None? Lol. However i have a 1080 and Wayland has memory leaks. I think related somehow cuz the amd boxes are fine and newer nvidia too.

    • [Solved] Rocket League on steam stuck at 0% on shader processing. After 1 minute, this pop up closes and the game does not open. Game runs normally on heroic games launcher (epic games)

  • Weird. I wud expect it to work well on proton 10 as well but im using GE proton via steam tinker launch so that bakkes mod can load on the side..

  • I would try changing proton versions and maybe delete and re create the wine prefix that rocket league is pointed at. I see nothing in the logs..

  • There are some differences in what can be installed, like steam has a list and lutris has a list of which orotons can be installed, some of those are in common. I would recommend downloading protonupqt lutris and steam and play with them for a bit.

  • You shouldn’t need Steam but protonup-qt can be used to manage lutris proton
