One random thing that really annoys me is that the site http://shakespeare.mit.edu does not properly forward http requests to https although they have an https version of the site.
In my experience there are some landlords who have people's best interests at heart. I do believe landlords are parasitic, but not everyone does, and out of those people there are some who become landlords because they think it will actually help people. And to be fair, when I was in undergrad, I rented a house with some guys and our landlord charged us $290/month/person and paid for all the utilities. I couldn't have saved any money from my part time job in any other situation. The house was nice, we each had our own room, and we shared 3 bathrooms. He was quick about repairs too. No lease agreement either, and when anybody moved out he didn't raise the rent. I stayed there for 3 years, others for longer.
Most likely with the language the monkey's paw would be that you can't speak any other language. I imagine you'd also be unable to learn any other language again. At any rate, linguists would still celebrate and you'd just have to make friends with people who want to learn that language for some professional, academic reason
This is why I like window transparency for certain apps. That way I can set the desktop background to something fairly neutral, then set window transparent and blur it so I can always sort of see what's behind. Idk, it makes everything feel a bit lighter
Yup! The bar at the top is called waybar. With css you can make it look pretty much however you want. The kinds and number of modules is also dictated with another config file. There are tons of prebuilt configs out there, but making this one was quite fun
Fullscreen works just as fullscreen should: the screen is fully used by the application. Idk, it looks normal, just like the app is in fullscreen. You don't see the waybar if that's what you're wondering about.
I mean this screenshot pretty much only shows my Waybar config, parts of my hyprland config, and the kitty (terminal emulator) config. I tried to do all the styling by myself by just building off the default configs
Yeah... I'd say watch it and just enjoy the first 3–5 seasons which contain arguably some of the best television ever made. Things start to do downhill as the writes had less and less source material to work off of, but season 6 is ok. Season 7 I think is bad. It's mostly just setup for the last season which failed miserably, and I think it would have been good had they managed to pull through with 8. Idk. Maybe just make up your own ending after watching the first 6–7 seasons.
Patches!
