  • I would slightly disagree on the first part, I would say that the vast majority of Chinese people are more strongly devoted to their government/economic model than an average person or the average country, but I agree in that most people of China aren't hardcore communist fanatics like neoliberals sometimes portray them as. Sometimes I think there should be more general support for communism in China, but I also think it could be a blessing in disguise. "Apolitical" people can point out the flaws in all sides, and supporting the status quo in China is a great thing, and the people are very supportive and independent without being a "hive mind". But that does lend credence to your argument, I suppose.

I also agree that we should save mocking neoliberal's arguments for after they are thoroughly broken down and disproven.

  • Hyten is a fucking tool that doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. The kind of infrastructure and operational discipline and actual "strategy" (I use that term incredibly loosely) takes fucking years to build at fucking best, and even then, most of his claims are just laughable horseshit. He's using lots of buzz phrases to justify the evil Amerikkkan Empire's delusional frame of mind in regards to expansion and conflict.

He simultaneously wants a centralized and decentralized cloud system, but that ignores that even if it works, the U.S. can't do much when it's second-hand warships are boondoggles compared to China's practically 23rd century technological advances and innovation. What amount of "strategy" can you possibly do or keep secret when China has some of the most sophisticated firewall protection and firewall breaking technology on Earth, has some of the best missiles and missile protection technology, and extremely advanced drones and a shit ton of artillery and redundancy and even burgeoning A.I. systems and some of the best military discipline and organization?

The U.S. is just showing it's ass. I concur that if these articles were a ploy, that would make sense, but thankfully it seems the U.S. can't stop China's or socialism's' rise, and it's only a matter of time until the Great Satan can be destroyed.

  • MEMRI is an op, but to completely disregard anything and everything they say is ridiculous. We have a responsibility to police ourselves, and ignoring the flaws of our "critical" allies that we critically support gives the enemy opportunity to exploit.

  • Yeah, Aang's reluctance to kill Ozai is kind of comical. It makes sense in the story, and you have very good points about Ozai suffering psychologically and socially after being stripped of his power and imprisoned rather than killed and martyred, though.

  • I understand your points, but I feel like you're singling out general purpose intelligent A.I. Lots of things with long time scales take a long term to turn a profit, and while investor perception matters and might drive away most possible buyers, capitalists often invest in numerous different stocks or companies, and it only takes 1 example to succeed.

I really like that Mr. Meeseeks analogy, even if it's slightly unfair.

I'm a big fan of Ray Kurzweil, if that makes sense.
