  • Cats don't carry it hereditarily, they have to be infected and it's usually because they're outdoor cats.

  • Blade Runner absolutely brought cyberpunk to the big screen, it was absolutely genre defining for a lot of people. Prior it was just Neuromancer that imagined it.

Plus they had "Metropolis" from 1927, did you read the whole list? Lol

  • We had to develop sapience at some point, but I'd guess it was closer to when we invented cooking than writing. Egypt isn't even that old by the standards of the human race.

  • Oh I haven't installed 39 yet, 38 came with it out of the box.

  • Well he is a Commander, so it's possible he wasn't command structure at the time, but assuming the rest of the lore holds true in the episode where he doesn't fight the Naussicans and get stabbed in the heart, he is shown to be science staff before the command route.

So blue, if anything, should be the color.

  • I'm down voting you not because you're wrong or I missed the "/s" but because of your atrocious spelling.

  • Like 75% of my basic training division was either inner city poverty escapism or rural poverty escapism.

Ironically that became the uniting force of those people, something they could understand when everything else about the person is different.

  • I had a similar experience but with a book about Dinosaurs that contained scientifically accurate eons, etc.

I started to piece together that while we might not be 100% correct all the time, YEC doesn't even have an alternative. They just try and debunk evolution but have no scientific method/knowledge that proves they're correct.

Where's all the geological science that shows a 6000 year old earth? None. There should be competing theories, but instead it's just "you're wrong, trust me bro."

  • That's like saying if we produce enough preschoolers fast enough we might be able to overwhelm that SWAT team.

The US Navy could likely sink their entire fleet without losing anything of significance outside of ammunition and fuel, it doesn't matter how fast they can build such inferior ships.

When it comes to engaging with developed nations the US doesn't do extended conflicts, that's a luxury of third world occupations. We'd take out their Navy and then invade or force a surrender based on extended range weapons.

  • intransitive verb To make a clear distinction; distinguish. "discriminate among the options available."

To make distinctions on the basis of class or category without regard to individual merit, especially to show prejudice on the basis of ethnicity, gender, or a similar social factor. "was accused of discriminating against women; discriminated in favor of his cronies."

To perceive or notice the distinguishing features of; recognize as distinct. "unable to discriminate colors."

Seems like it's primary use is to distinguish between things.

  • Can 300 million people collectively run an economy and be focused on making those decisions? No.

Then a group of representatives are needed to do it for them, but wait, isn't that the same thing as a government owning and operating the economy? Like in fascism? Oh no!

  • No one is pointing a finger and saying Linux isn't capable, they're saying it currently cannot run certain programs which is true. Why it can't is irrelevant, to the user it just can't.

  • Nobara came with Firefox, do most distros not?

  • Yeah cause that's the only benefit 🙄

  • Only real downside is the inability to comment but otherwise it's great.

  • Exactly, if you make changes to things you wish you'd done differently, you could drastically alter your life enough to where you'd be in unknown territory rather quickly.

Sure you'd still have the "dump savings into Bitcoin, sell in September 2020" thing that would make you richer than the blue pill ever could, but the mistakes we make are the biggest reason to relive the past and once you alter those you'd quicky change the course of your life.

  • Off-site cloud backups for geographical disaster resiliency and operated by a third party contractor that you don't work for.

  • DNF as a package manager isn't that hard either, and it's never given me any troubles.

  • Oh shit im still running GNOME 2 on Nobara 38, do I need to do a fresh reinstall?

  • Honestly that's more like network engineering than programming, but you're surprisingly accurate.
