I would boycott Walmart but I already started boycotting them over a decade ago. I understand some people in tight financial situations need the lower prices they can get from places like Walmart. And therefore they cannot so freely boycott such a place but if you're somebody who can avoid it I would advise steering clear of that shit hole. Their policies are trash and the family that owns it are oligarchical douche bags.
I think you missed the part in Tron where the MCP said the human beings were functionally useless as anything but slaves. This wasn't a "I can run the human world better" this was more of an Ultron deal where it believed that it would either be a better world without humans or a Forbin Project sitch where all of humanity should be micromanaged slaves to its will.
Bigoted against what?? A machine? The money grubbing assholes who are using those machines to profit on other people's work without giving them a dime in compensation? Who the hell are you defending here?
Studio Ghibli and their artists put in millions of hours collectively to create works if absolute art. Sam Altman just borrowed millions of dollars to rip them off.
As a tool, it should be highly useful to artists to help them create things. However, the fact that these algorithms (I don't care to call them AI because they aren't) are stealing people's work and then shitting out mediocre garbage and the people in the creative industry who tend to finance such things start thinking that "these machines can just do what an artist can so why pay for an artist" is the problem.
The way Altman whines about how much he should be allowed to steal people's work to feed his bottom line, I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the case.
They literally paraphrased the first paragraph of the article.
And they are complaining because they don't get notifications at all, ever. Most likely for the same (or similar) reason I don't. I don't use their stupid app. I also never allow push notifications from any browser anywhere ever.
I was trying to figure out what the heck they were talking about when they referred to push notifications. And then I realized that this was in reference to the YouTube app which I have never actually used (other than to cast YouTube videos to my TV. But I always disable the thing immediately after using it for that purpose.) So I have never gotten notifications from YouTube about anything, literally ever. LoL 😂
I don't have a positive view of a lot of countries, especially ones that are actively murdering men, women, and children but I am not advocating for the destruction or death to the inhabitants of those countries.
You are making yet another false equivalency. "Please stop murdering people and grant them freedom from oppression" does not equate to "I wish to see you and everyone around you dead".
Saying "free Palestine" does not equal "down with Israel and the Jews". Wanting freedom from oppression for one group is not an endorsement of violence or oppression against another.
IMO The Little Mermaid live action remake was pretty good. They made the love interest make more sense, not just the guy going "pretty girl is pretty" and also I liked that
::: spoiler spoiler
it was her who killed the sea witch at the end and not the guy.
:::
IMO that made for a more well rounded ending.
As for the others, I've se Beauty and The Beast and wasn't impressed but have watched none of the others because all of them live in an uncanny valley I don't want to visit.
Is this something that is actually happening? Or is this a hypothetical edge case that assumes anti-Tesla activists are ignorant?
The post you are literally in is discussing a dark-web site that is publishing the names and addresses of all of the people currently own Teslas. This is not hypothetical.
I fundamentally disagree with doxing regular people. It's one thing if it's a public figure who is actively antagonizing people and using anonymity as a layer of protection against repercussions for their awful acts. But publishing the names and addresses of people who simply bought a car is not something we should be doing.
IIRC the "150 year olds" in those records has to do with how computers handle dates post Y2K. I remember some programmers chiming in when that story broke. It's not actually fraud but a fix to handle certain pre 1980 dates in older computer systems.
