Scary part is that the protests within America were not covered, or were barely mentioned.

You can NOT rely on the media to cover the important stuff, or to tell you what is important. This is because (1) the billion owned media wants you do be apathetic so they can get gigantic GOP tax cuts for the rich, and (2) the average journalist does not have any special skill set in letting them know what is important, and (3) journalists and editors are lazy and only cover what other outlets are covering.

You have to work extra hard to understand reality, and things like Lemmy help with that.

Such a person cannot be an "amazing coder".

A huge barrier for some is picking the instance and figuring which community they should follow.

Figuring out which communities on which servers to subscribe to is way more important than figuring out which server to post from.

The pushback I would like to see is the rush of companies to rebrand ordinary computer programs as "AI".

That was the entire point of the pardon. To spare them the cost of wasting their money on lawyers. None of them were in danger of going to jail because none of them did anything illegal.

None of those people committed any crimes. None of them could have been convicted of any crimes and probably couldn't have been charged with any crimes that wouldn't have resulted in the lawyers getting disbarred for misconduct. But they likely all would have had to waste their money on their own lawyers. Biden spared them from the nonsense.

Nobody is voted for Dems in order to do them any personal favors. We are voting to do ourselves and the country a favor. If people don't vote they are screwing themselves. The politicians are going to be fine either way. If people do not understand that THEY are the losers, not politicians, when they don't vote, then yes that is their own fault.

Nope. If just an additional 1 out of every 15 people in Texas had voted for Harris, then Trump would have lost even Texas. The number of people in Texas who could have voted but did not vote far exceeds that number. The number of people in Texas who didn't vote because they probably thought it wouldn't matter was big enough to easily make the difference in who won the state. So even the state of Texas could have voted against Trump, if only enough people who could have voted actually did vote for Harris. And Texas is one of your "meaningless" states. Other states could have done this even more easily.

But I think the claim is that he wants to purchase Greenland from Denmark. There is actually a historical precedent for exactly that. The USA purchased the Virgin Islands from Denmark in 1917. We also purchased Puerto Rico from Spain, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma etc from France, and Alaska from Russia.
