Even if she was trying to fleece the insurance, which I don't think she was, I find it insane that we are so upset that someone may possibly get something she doesn't deserve that we are okay with creating a system where so many who do need it are refused.

What's your upload amount? Ratio isn't vs the total size of the torrent, so this can happen if you remove a readd a torrent to the client for a file that's already in the hard drive. Say you download 1kb of a 1gb file, but then upload 10mb you can get some insane ratios.

If you transport it across state lines with intent to implant it, is it transport a minor to another state for sex?

If you transport it and then don't use/destroy it, is it conspiracy to commit murder? Even if the "murder" is in another state, they can show the intent started in Alabama so you get the conspiracy fun.

We already do that online. But yes, this would make it worse.

Filtering out opposing viewpoints like "no right/left politics" leaves people woefully uninformed and partisan.

You can go through my post history, my biggest issue surrounding guns is that they are seen as a valid solution to solving conflicts rather than a last resort. I don't really know if there is an easy solution to this, as our culture seems to reinforce rhetoric like "fuck around and find out."

I think I'm on the autism spectrum, so I may not quite understand many people's reactions. But guns and gun violence is an emotional response that we need to disassociate from conflict resolution.

I'd also reform the news media as a whole. Prevent the consolidation of media conglomerates like Sinclair. I'd remove protections from Fox where they say their "news" is actually "entertainment" so we can hold them accountable for the misrepresentation of situations. While there is no objective "truth," that doesn't mean there isn't blatant misinformation happening. In my humble opinion, news has trended away from reporting the facts and even the most objective story has editorial bias applies. We need to be cautious of media that creates an "us vs them" mentality. There are enough actual issues that we don't need to foster some manufactured outrage at a group perceived to be the Boogeyman.

If we remove the overarching fear in everyday life, fewer people would react in violent manners to non-violent situations and altercations.

I would be careful though, as I don't trust state run news. I'd spend a significant amount of time to find ways to have more independent news organizations. Regulations would need to be built to protect from blatant misinformation or fear mongering. Honestly, I don't know how to do this in a way that wouldn't lay a foundation for censoring dissenting opinions, but I'd work with whomever I could find that would help me do so.

I don't have an answer for everything, but I'd honestly be wary of any politician that said they did.

Medicare for all. Do away with the private healthcare system.

Free mental health services.

Student debt forgiveness.

Create programs to lift people out of poverty.

Work to abolish systemic issues that impact the low income, minorities, lgbtq, and other traditionally marginalized communities.

Create an amendment codifying the right to abortions.

Protect women's healthcare.

Remove protections for social media and tech companies that amplify hate speech. Even if I don't like it, the Nazis get free speech protections, but that doesn't mean companies get to facilitate and amplify it's reach.

Create gun training programs that hopefully can teach people that guns are not a solution to your problems; guns are a last resort to protect human life. Not property, only life.

Comprehensive police reform. Reallocate funds and responsibility away from officers so that they can focus on dealing with actual crime.

Remove civil asset fortfiture.

Prevent the sale of military equipment to police departments.

And so much more. I figure if we can get rid of a lot of the underlying causes that make people feel like they don't have a choice but commit violent crimes then gun violence should decrease.

I always thought that movie was ridiculous. How did no one think the aliens with super good hearing would be susceptible to specific frequencies or loud noises?

I'm not in Florida, but can they sign a permission slip that just includes everything.

A terrible tragedy which illustrates the terrible impact gun culture has on this country. Two groups in which someone believed that using a gun would solve a perceived conflict.

No matter what our future gun control looks like, one aspect that we need to address is the culture around firearms. We need to rid gun owners of the belief that firearms are a solution to disagreements and anything but the absolute last resort in protecting life.

As is drunkenness and low blood sugar from a diabetic episode. Maybe it's time we hold our officers accountable and require those they suspect are impaired to be seen by medical personal who then, if tests show, have a BAC above a set amount share that information with law enforcement.

Officers have been shown they aren't trustworthy enough to have the discretion to determine between medical aid or drunkenness.

It's been a while, but I used to have a dream where I was in high school like I didn't finish, but I would realize I had already graduated and gone to college. I was extra confused until my mind said I could just fuck with those high school classes and do whatever.

I've had similar issues. Usually if I am switching between apps too fast. Like if I open a link and then click back before it loads. Particularly if it opens that link in a different app, like YouTube videos. The only way I've fixed it is closing out the app and reopening it.

I think it's tied somewhere when the UI changes to a video player and starts hiding elements and gets interrupted.

The whole premise of the show was the government persecuting those it didn't like. They are only proving the point of the show.

So uh. What the fuck does that mean?
