  • I grew being told I was smart. And to be fair, I am. I always grasped things quick and got through school without much effort.

But what it really ended up being was undiagnosed ADHD.

But when I had to really focus and stick with something for an extended period of time I always struggled. Especially when I lost the structure of being forced to go to school every day.

Im 35 this year and I never expected to be able to hold down a relationship, I had flings but nothing stuck. It wasn't until other things in life going that I rekindled a missed connection from years past. It was only 2 years ago and now she and her daughter live with me.

As for hobbies, I really wish there was a better way to do it than owning all my own stuff. Communal woodshops and auto shops that were more easily accessible. Then hacker spaces for the more niche things. But I know that's a resource that's more accessible around cities.

  • Call it out for what it is, it's bullshit. They are conspiring to make it sound like a threat and they are flooding the message. Call them out for what they are actually doing and don't just act like we should give a fuck what their perspective is.

They are coordinating propaganda, the media doesn't have to spread it.

  • I like the Slate. Maybe a touch longer in the hood than I'd like. But nice none the less.

Hyundai is finally starting to win me over, I've so long overlooked them from their old reputation, but they've been putting out some good cars for a bit now.

  • Oh God yes. Fuck bob iger. He screwed us so fucking bad. He kept taking every little benefit we cast members had. The Christmas parties, the ornaments and shit being changed to buttons. Not even pins, damn buttons.

He just acquired company after company and the shut down creative, unique projects. I hate his leadership.

  • No, though that's an option if you retire from working there after a certain point.

I just still know enough people working there that they'll sign me in. It's not gonna last forever, people are retiring, or moving to new jobs and Disney is taking tons of the benefits away from their employees.

  • Or those that used to work there, and have been going for free for the last two decades even after quitting almost 10 years ago?

I don't live there anymore, but still go at least once or twice a year. I haven't paid since before 2008.

  • This would then default to not an emergency so avoiding a vote wouldn't do shit to help them.

The existing mechanism is that Congress can vote to say it's not an emergency. I'm saying they need to do the opposite. Say it actually is an emergency and by a supermajority so one party having control doesnt give them complete control.

  • Congress needs to pass a law requiring that any national emergency needs to be confirmed by a super majority of both the house and Senate within 15 calendar days of declaration. Or from 15 days of the passage of this law, whichever is later. An ongoing national emergency must be renewed by Congress before the sixth month of its declaration, but no earlier than it's fifth month. Then on a yearly basis starting from the anniversary of its declaration.

Failing that, all emergency powers the president wields are revoked.

In a true emergency, the assemblage of Congress is not an onerous task. Nor is the vote.

  • Best PE teacher I had actually made it a class where we had to learn the rules of the games and were given tests on them. Then we spent a couple weeks playing the games and she had the kids acting as referees enforcing the rules we learned. We played basketball, baseball, football, bowling. She taught us different dances like line dancing and square dancing. When it was winter and there was enough snow. We even learned cross country skiing.

Then I moved to a different school and my PE curriculum became "run a mile.' I have exercised induced asthma. Running was a literal hell for me.
