The owner was asked if an autism-awareness event could be held at his business. He accepted, in part because he has family members with autism. After the event has gotten rolling, he realizes it’s actually a campaign event for the GOP and tells the guy to fuck off.
Seems like they either deliberately went out of their way to hide what the event really was, or the business owner didn’t really bother to look up who was holding the event and put two-and-two together.
Idle Thumbs and Important If True feeds both sit fallow in my Overcast. I refuse to delete them in perhaps misguided hopes that one day a seedling will spring anew.
They know the way the wind is blowing on this issue, and they trade in public image nearly as much as they do in physical goods. This is a good look for them, and when it was clear they wouldn’t win, they’re happy to join the winning side.
It’s also not completely out of left field—they’ve been expanding access to previously-internal repair guides and even tools over the last few years.
Until a few races ago I would have said it was looking more likely each race but they’ve made some ground back and he seems a tiny bit less likely to bail now.
On the other hand, where else would he go? Red Bull isn’t giving up Max for anything, and Merc isn’t ready to give up on Lewis. McLaren’s banking on their rising (risen?) star with Lando, and Aston is playing the part of a comeback hero for Alonso.
