Modern societies crush people. It breaks them. There are huge contradictions too: the idea of working to succeed when it is actually not working. The idea of freedom vs the wage slavery. The idea of being in a powerful and advanced country but still poor as fuck.
And then you have this culture of guns and violence. They go togethet: you get guns because you believe it can fix problems. Because you believe that killing people can fix problems.
Add 2 and 2 together: you have these life crushing problems, and guns as problem solver. Society provoque the problem. Kill them. Kill them all. Maybe they'll understand after that and change something.
Far right and conspiracy theory give a theoric foundation for people to focus their rage or despair too.
I believe that the language was transmitted with trade rather than conquest in the roman empire. At worse one would have a translator to receive orders and communicate with Rome. But with becoming part of the empire, trade develop, and all the people engaged in the trading will start to learn the language.
For that England was not well placed. It was described as a poor land by the Romans, barely worth a conquest. So I expect Rome didn't care enough to develop it.
It should be noted that usually when we talk about languages of the past, we're talking about the languages of the aristocracy. In rural areas, it vary wildly depending on the history of the place and the ties they had with the nearest city. No one cared about the language they talked as long as one guy there could translate for the others. They didn't write book either. It's only recently in history, with the idea of nation and the school for everyone, that people started to talk the same language on all of a country. You may have heard about the literacy of a population that was very low until the 60's or 70's. This is actually when people all started to actually talk the same language, even in remote places.
But I think the important matter were the foreign ostages, especially from Europe and USA, because those countries do a lot to recover them, including paying big money.
I wondered why Israel didn't attack the weekend they said they would attack. They gave an ultimatum, but didn't act on it. One possibility is that the USA and Europe wanted to try to recover their ostages first.
That's quite true. A friend told me that the red engine from cdpr is one of the most efficient and we'll made engine today. It didn't surprised me because cdpr has been working on it for 2 years after cyberpunk failed to meet the technical requirements they sold it for.
That's what it takes now for an optimized engine: 2 years on a decade old engine.
IMO they'd be idiot not to go hard on this. More efficiency on the computing needed for AI can quickly scale to a'y application that will be developed in the future.
We are going in a future of limited resources and expensive energy. That's a short term problem.
They would better hide those evidences as best as they can, or they would lose a useful source of informations.
That's the whole game of intelligence: to be a step ahead of the opponent, it must believe its safe so you can steal useful informations. As soon as the breach is discovered, it ceases to be useful.
It might be E2EE but it's not encrypted on your phone and it's closed source. How do you know they don't send the conversation data to their company? How do you know they don't get the encryption keys to decipher the messages for them?
First, you learn new things and you live new experiences. This changes your personality, for better or for worse.
Second, your personality is rooted in your ideals and beliefs, and you can purposefully change those.
Your personality can be described as the way you act and react, and both of those are learned. You may even say programmed. You can change the way you react to some situations, or the way you act in some situations. It takes a bit of practice.
Now that can sound easy, but it requires you to be very open-minded and honest about yourself, because you think with your beliefs already, so changing them may not be that easy. You need to litteraly think differently than you usually do. It's a lot of introspection.
I don't know about people, but for me, in the parties I attended, it was various mixes of talking, drinking alcohol, eating, playing games, listening to music, and dancing. No activity was mandatory. Usually there's always talking, drinking and alcohol, the rest depends on the party.
So apparently there are two phases: first, a pop-up that tells you addblocker is forbidden. But if you go long enough without caring, the the message is out instead of the video.
It is based on the account. So if you open the video in another account, it works, and it also work in a private tab (I need to double check for this one).
