  • The responsibility is on the lawmakers who sold us all out to lobbyists for campaign money.

    Slight correction.

The responsibility is on the consistency to vote for lawmakers that don't succumb to bribery.

Blaming politicians for the world's problems instead of voters is like blaming companies for climate change but not customers.

  • Yeah, there's a lot of fantasy-world takes here in lemmy.

Sometimes it's nice, and sometimes it's yikes.

This is one of those yikes times where we're actually defending a drunk girl killing an old lady for no reason.

Ahh well, I don't expect more from the chronically mentally ill.

  • Ruling class tightening its grip.

They were successful in getting the working class to vote against their own interests since the late 60s.

MKUltra was a success. They found out they couldn't control people as easily with drugs, so they resorted to other means. i.e. pop culture and influencers.

  • That's exactly what I was thinking.

While I'd like to believe there's some grand conspiracy to silence this guy, I actually think it's more likely this was done by someone he knew or was working with.

I could easily see some angry, deranged homeless person killing a journalist just because he "didn't like him."

  • Prices should be lower.

What's the point in increasing wages if prices go up faster?

Remember: products are priced according to what people are willing to pay, not what they cost to produce.

The answer isn't to make more, it's to spend less. The only people who should be taking a hit are those profiting. They'll still make more money than any of you can ever hope to dream of.
