  • The only thing GitHub can’t to is structure tickets. It would be nice to link issues together other than by referencing them.

  • No consultancy can ever make Jira fast. It’s incredible that it takes several seconds just to open a motherfucking goddamn issue.

  • inline code with back ticks

Have you noticed that there are now three ways to enter block-formatted, monospace text?

  • The built-in lib is fine for basic stuff unless you do some crazy shit like expecting "2" to parse as a valid date.

  • Quoting the top comments from that video, not even cherry-picking:

[Please explain] in-depth, what differences you are hearing and where you are hearing them

The “320 kbps MP3s” [used in the test] are either poorly encoded or possibly recompressed

I can only tell the difference on songs that I know.

It's usually the highs where the difference is

(Meaning that the difference is only audible when you’re quite young.)

please make a video on the differences you hear! I can't recognise them at all

    This is such a flex

please show us what you're listening for!

This should give you an idea that this guy’s performance is not ordinary, and certainly out of the leage of “anybody with a pulse”.

  • That isn’t a bad thing. On the contrary, according to the open-closed principle, you should strive for writing code you never have to touch again.

  • Ah yes, the “fuck it, no-one is going to use this” code.

  • You don’t need to use TS to avoid common issues. If you add an empty object to an empty array and expect a meaningful result, the problem sits in front of the keyboard.

  • Unfortunately, people do.

  • worse, compressed mp3

Everyone who claims they can distinguish 192kbps mp3 from uncompressed audio can also hear the flea cough, as we say in German.

  • I am a frontend dev. JavaScript (well, TypeScript) is my bread and butter. Even knowing its quirks I never would have thought how inconsistent Date actually is. I encourage everyone to try this quiz.

This is what JavaScript haters should bring forth, not 0.1 + 0.2 !== 0.3!

  • I guess this is rinsing an infected ear. The eyes are protected to prevent droplets of possibly infected goo entering them.

  • The kind of psychos that have “nice to have” tests. If it’s red, it’s not critical, but still worthy of attention… sometime.

  • Clock drift. Funny experience when your JWTs are suddenly issued in the future and no-one can login anymore.

    God, I hate computers.

  • Your Wikipedia link is broken. Underscores are formatting marks, they make text italic

That seems to be an issue with your frontend. The Lemmy web view displays the link correctly.

  • Do you really need to explain to people what a left turn is?
