Ironically staying home may help more than protesting as it denies Trump the ability to declare martial law due to "riots" — AKA peaceful protests turned violent by police. Basically just wait it out until midterms and hope for the best, assuming voting isn't completely fucked by then and that people have learned from their mistakes and turn out in droves for the opposite of Trump. But you can't tell people to stay home, they're angry, rightfully, and want answers and their families back.

I don't see this getting any better. Anyone have a more optimistic take?

Now imagine if everyone was armed to the teeth and showed up to protest peacefully. I feel like that's what it would take to make kidnappers think twice about fucking around.

Genuine question— Conspiracy generally involves an agreement between two or more people to commit an unlawful act. The "unlawful act" being key, what unlawful act is there to charge someone with conspiracy regarding the policy changes in Project 2025?

On the other hand, once the SCOTUS basically made the President king so long as they did it in the interest of the country, Biden should have just put all of them in jail, but that's beside the point.

This is a tragedy, and unfortunately the general sentiment I've seen online from trumpers is that "this is not natural" and "this was an intentional geoengineering attack by the democrats". MTG has already introduced a bill that:

Piefed is both an instance (piefed.social) and back-end server software that allows anyone to run their own instance (list of various Piefed instances). It works on the same ActivityPub protocol as Lemmy and Kbin/Mbin so they all interoperate with each other.

One of the cool things I like about Piefed is it seems to join the comments of various instances in cross-posts. On Lemmy, you can see its crossposted, but you have to manually check them out to see any comments on others. One cool feature I like over Lemmy. There's a few others, but I'd encourage you to check it out. You don't have to commit if you don't like it.

Yeah this is just manufacturers self rating themselves. This is just like VW cars rating themselves as getting 5-10mpg better than their competitors, when really they were just measuring from the balls.

The up side is if they fail to meet those ratings then are the consumers entitled to some sort of compensation?

CoMaps (unless they've diverged from Organic Maps already) only updates map info once a month. Once a month they "cut" whatever is latest on Open Street Maps (OSM) and update their database. if someone updates OSM today, you may not see it on CoMaps until the monthly update is available.

Not everyone grew up knowing the impact words or phrases have on marginalized communities. I reflect on the day I learned women think twice about going for a runs at night. Growing up a white-passing guy in a relatively safe neighborhood, the possibility of getting raped was a foreign concept, but a sad reality for many women. In that same vein, you lack the humility to consider people like me, who grow up in an environment where slurs were common and "just a joke".

I've educated myself, learned from my past, reflected on how my actions may have impacted others at the time and walked away from ignorance. I am not who I used to be, and we must allow people to grow, or would you prefer to see no change?

If you grew up perfect, you should feel blessed that you've had the opportunity. Not everyone gets that.
