  • A rough visual representation of what ~2500 hectares looks like:

Obviously that's not where it'll be, but it gives a sense of scale, as I had absoutetly no idea what 2500 hectares looks like.

  • A part of me wonders if this was a genuine failure or sabotage.

  • Damn, RIP. He was a great character in F1, he'll be missed.

  • Spent far too long thinking how annoying that guys hair cut is.

  • The r/Unitedkingdom subreddit seems to be in the process of being taken over. Constant posts about crimes that brown immigrants commit with the same type of comments. It seems like one half of the sub notice and keep calling it out but another cohort keep posting and commenting anti immigration rhetoric. Said posts get upvoted very quickly too.

It's a stark contrast to how it was 5 or 10 years ago.

  • Someone who's alive and real would be a good start.

  • I challenge this statement with when you wake up at night and panic you need to get up soon, only to realise you've still got 4 hours left until your alarm.

  • That was my first thought, but if it was Ferrari, they'd have messed it up and only screwed up their own freight.

  • From the article, as it takes a while to get to the point:

"It was quite heart wrenching to see him so gutted," the 51-year-old told media including RacingNews365. "You know, his first grand prix."

The Briton highlighted how well the driver of the junior team performed over the weekend, underlining an "awful lot of positives" the Frenchman can draw from his debut, despite the circumstances.

"I think the positives he needs to take out of it when he reflects on the weekend," Horner said. "He performed very well through the practices and the qualifying. You forget that these guys are just kids really.

"Obviously a lot of emotion for him today, but I think when he strips it back, there's an awful lot of positives he can take out of the weekend. He's got many bright days ahead of him."

  • If I had to guess, it would be hexbear.

  • There was a post within the last few weeks where someone had some brief conversation with him (external to Lemmy); think he's just busy with life.

  • I don't think so. They only asked him not to overtake him for a short period of time, where they were lapping backmarkers and the track conditions were bad. From a team perspective it makes no difference which cars are first and second, just that they actually bring the cars home in that order.

  • Stroll was totally anonymous the entire race, I don't think I heard his name or saw his car once. In races like this, it's probably not a bad thing.

  • Great opening race! Was very nervous for Norris but he did a great job, mature drive. Feel bad for Piastri. Great result for Williams, more of that from them please!

  • Could you imagine where the team would be without Max? They'd probably have been in the bottom of the midfield for years.

  • That's likely to be true for everyone so they might not slip behind much.
