Instagram by Meta has started using user generated content for their training data. Naturally users are upset about this and are flocking to a new platform named Cara made by an artist which has principle and are actively fighting for artist copyright. Cara uses Vercel to host their platform. The problem is that the sudden influx of users means bigger bills to pay to handle those traffic (I think they are billed around ~$96k). As of now, it is unclear how they will proceed to pay the bills. The creator of Cara didn't want to compromise his stance by accepting any money willy-nilly, but also acknowledged that angel investors are not easy to find.
The difference with the distro package is that you are already using the distro anyway. If you cannot trust the distro package then the whole distro itself is untrusted. Or depending on the repo provided, maybe the whole repo not the whole distro.
Thanks for the knowledge! Glad it isn't some nature metal shit happening there lol. However, I do remember that whale milk is squirted out too (and my god I remember reading that the consistency is... unique). Is the whale nipple inverted too?
As opposed to any other companies? I don't have the data, but I have a hunch that if you can find every OSHA violation that ended up in death, NASA would be pretty low on that list. Even if you factor in the hours worked.
I think I may know a few of those. But not through play store. They usually scam someone by saying they got a packet on their way and their tracking number must be opened on an app that they send via messaging apps.
I agree, the point is that we need to define "alive" itself clearly which as you stated, is currently beyond our understanding.
If being inert constitutes as not living then yes, virus is not alive. Their "evolution" is not because of their doing/needs but rather due to their construction. In that case I think virus is more akin to a poison. The substance itself can be not dangerous, but due to a metabolism process inside a specific organism/cell, it becomes a dangerous substance. The side effect in this case is just so happens to make another copy of the virus. But this process is prone to mutation as their building block is quite prone to do so, and we get the "evolution".
But it did reproduce then no? Its just like how some organisms are surviving as a parasite. They need another thing to survive mostly as food. But in this case, as a reproduction method.
I prefer concise and accurate documentation than clean code tbh. The reason is that if the documentation stated that it should perform something with side effects a,b,c then I at least know what to expect. When contributing, this also makes it easier to implement something because we have the requirement at hand. Understanding shitty code is easier than understanding human requirements. Shitty code is the language we use to talk with a computer, so at least you'll know exactly what will happen.
So CAD is simple stuff huh. So does CFD, mathematical modeling of a complex control system, robotics... Man, if only mechatronics is so simple. I daily drive arch btw.
This is a very fucking apt analogy!
