  • 😒 if people comment, why do they not read the post or the linked article?

  • read the article, the keypoints have nothing to do with proton or the posted article. i just tried to add more context and illustrste that "swiss privacy" is an empty marketing phrase, like "military grade security" etc.

  • can you also give a response to the "Addendum 2" in the article?

  • they are both great, but combined they would be a foss diamond of of cosmic porportions and never before reached ingenuity.

  • sure, but also

    „We kill people based on metadata.“ Michael Hayden, NSA

  • my inability to answer that question makes me consider to apply for a job in the swiss secret service.

  • is there now still a difference between this and f droid basic?

  • i mentionied the flaws i saw and are are being adresssed by the community since years without ever anything happening. so i just dont get the focus on a problem that does not even exist.

    what will the next article be about? to dont write your password on a post it and stick it onto the screen?

  • no they are not, just another stupid article from proton. nothing stops you from saying that bwE0FpHb5iPzMZiismyeiTIWhoB*#V8SaD0F3R*SeH was your first pets name.

    proton however stops you from disabling otp after setting up multiple security keys, they stop you from putting a pin on your drive app and they stop you from using an +4 digit pin on your mail app.

    but yea, the potentially insecure thing they dont even offer is the biggest concernn here đŸ€Šâ€â™€ïž

  • not really tho. fornexample airplane companies ask for your full name, address and passport number.

  • It's not really important, more like a joke born out of boredom. But now if someone finds my veracrypt usb and manages to crack the first password, they will be trolled a bit and can read this beautiful diary entry (which GPT wrote)

    Dear diary, let me tell you, nobody knows cyber security like I do. It's true. We've got the best, the most tremendous cyber security in the world. It's not even close. Our encryption? It's so strong, so powerful, even the smartest hackers—very smart people, by the way—they can't crack it. They try and they try, but they just can't do it. It's like trying to break into Fort Knox, but even tougher. Believe me. And DDoS attacks? Please. They're like little mosquitoes to us. We swat them away without even breaking a sweat. Our firewalls are like this massive, beautiful wall, and I know something about building walls. They're the biggest, the best. Nothing gets through. Nothing. And phishing? We spot those a mile away. Our people are so alert, so vigilant, it's like they have a sixth sense for these things. Our antivirus software? It's like the superhero of software. It's so advanced, so ahead of its time, that viruses give up. They see our defenses and say, "Nope, not going there. Too tough." It's incredible, really. So when I say we have the best cyber security, I'm not exaggerating. It's not just good, it's the best. It's fantastic, folks. Absolutely fantastic.

    😅

  • i made a real one with lastpass and exported them, but none of the accounts exist and i dont use any of the sites.

  • ya peobaby faster than figuring out how to automate it 😅

  • mostly just abbreviations like

    :*:ty-::Thank you very much

    I know its possible in linux. but on windows in ahk it takes me seconds to add/remove/deactivate/activate them. and on a good working day do that maybe 20 to 50 times. and they are all in one single file.

    i also use it for simple shortcuts or things like

    :R*?:ddd:: FormatTime, CurrentDateTime,, dd.MM.yy SendInput %CurrentDateTime% return

    or stuff like search selected text in search engine X or Y; but if selected in program A, then use search engine Z or open program B and enter it there. but those are the most complicated ones i use and dont need quick changing.

  • id really like to use linux, but not before this is working. i dont understand how you linux people can live witout ahk.

  • dare i say it? critical support for the "pro israel" lobby on this one. dark side of the moon does not need any remastering đŸ˜
