  • It started as a bunch of hippies in California decided to travel to the desert and do a week long festival (party) that was for expressing art, living care free, and being self-reliant. You brought everything with you when you came, and you took everything out when you left, leave nothing behind. Over time it has grown bigger and bigger, there are other smaller instances all over the country. The smaller ones still have a lot of the original vibe. The main one still has it, but now a lot of tourists go just to party, do drugs, and have sex. Yes, a lot of the artists have a lot of money, people talking about rich people, it was never about money or not having it. It was about living carefree.

  • Wordpad can also open most Word files. Even though I have Office, I open word files in wordpad all the time, because it's so much faster to open. When I just need one small piece of info, that I am going to copy and paste, it saves me time.

  • I guess you are completely unaware of the fact that a huge chunk of the Azure infrastructure runs on linux now. MS also knows that in the enterprise space, companies use linux in their server infrastructure also, so their employees need to be able to work in linx as well. MS has versions of SQL and I believe also exchange that run on linux. WSL isn't just about appease neckbeard wannabes.

  • Vista was a good idea and good start, but 7 was the finished product that needed shipped. Just like XP was the finished version of 2000, though 2000 wasn't bad, but XP was just better, more optimized, and yes hardware caught up also. 98, was 95 but better, fixed and polished. 10 was windows 8 better, fixed and polished, and they dumped that stupid fucking tablet interface that everyone hated, (and whoever put that interface in server 2012 needs to be beaten with a sand filled wiffle ball bat)

Backwards compatibility is why windows dominates the market. Without that, it wouldn't have taken over the business world. Legacy code is what makes the business world operate. Yes it hold back windows for some growth, but deprecating that would wreck so many businesses, especially small ones.

  • His base will never change, they are a cult and believe what they want to believe. This will just further bury Trump in the eyes of the moderate R's, the ones who held their nose and voted for Biden, or just abstained from voting last time. It will pull the big donors away from Trump. And it will burn his legacy, which is the worst thing you can do to him.

  • Considering lagers are the number 1 selling beer in the world, you're wrong. You know that lager is a broad term that actually covers several styles, including some of the most popular specialties. The fact that you think a lager means Budweiser shows that you don't understand the conversation. Helles, maibock, bock, Vienna's, Octoberfest, pilsner, are all lagers and that's not the full list. American macrobrew is not the definition of a lager, which is why a class was made called.american light lager to cover those.

  • IPAs are still riding a popularity high in the US. It's easy to make, you don't have to be as precise and careful with your beer when you make them, the hops will hide your mistakes. Sign of a bad brewery, is they only sell IPAs. Currently in the US, IPAs are the top selling style, unfortunately. Saisons are so much better, for example.

  • Ipa allow brewers to mask brewing mistakes by burying them in hop flavor. And if you think Budweiser is the only example of a lager, you shouldn't be talking about beer. You can create 5-6% lagers without sacrificing flavor. There are tons of good lagers out there, Budweiser isn't one of them.
