Honour killings are on one hand part of a larger patriarchal culture that is prevalent in most of the world, on the other hand, they are much more common in groups practicing fundamental variations of Islam. Pointing that out isn't Islamophobia. Blaming each and every Muslim for this would be. If we persecute each murder committed by policemen, but do nothing against the larger pattern, then we tolerate police violence.

    If we would not persecute them or give them lighter sentences, we do not only tolerate them, we endorse them.
