  • But this crash was clearly Alonso’s fault.

That's not what is said on the analysis though. It's sort of that Alonso operates in a gray area. He does try to trigger a driver error (not a crash though). Then the analysis says it's too harsh. Plus that there was a lot of room, just that George handled it badly.

Stewards seemed to have looked at the result to determine the penalty. That goes against what they said in other cases, that they penalize based upon what was done, not what happens after.

  • Don't forget this bit from the article:

Trade Policy is an exclusive competence of the European Union. The legal basis for Ireland’s and the EU’s trade relations with Israel is the EU-Israel Association Agreement, which entered into force in June 2000.

  • Then the fuhrer will owe his friend a favor for the help.

Because Trump always pays people back.

It's so strange how many people (even lawyers) do various things including crime for Trump, then expect some gratitude from him. Despite him regularly throwing people under the bus.

  • I'm curious as to how a $175M bond is supposed to guarantee a $454M judgment.

The appeals court lowered it to this amount. This could be a hint that the judge didn't calculate the original amount correctly. Meidas Touch on YouTube did a video about it. I haven't seen any good articles which repeat the same idea.

  • The tug boats could only be there as an escort in case of an emergency

The vessel was doing 8 knots. It would have been useless and dangerous according to that channel.

Leaving them out of the equation is a cost-saving practice.

If tugs are required then the port should require them instead of relying on shipping companies to do this. You've repeated that it is a cost-saving measure but I've said twice now that it isn't automatically helpful to have them. Further, it really is on the port if tugs should be needed to put that into the minimum requirements.

  • As far as no tug escort

From what I've watched it might not have been safer. This because tugs apparently only can operate such a vessel if it is going really slow. But when it is going slow the vessel is difficult to control. So there's no easy better option.

I'm just repeating what I heard on a video from this channel: https://youtube.com/@wgowshipping

  • The article doesn't say that the prices went up because they paid people more though. There's also quite a bit of difference in what the producers are paid and what cocoa is sold at.

Cocoa is often transported in bulk, then there's loads of trade going on where they try to influence the price as much as possible. Meaning, as high as possible.

That the price of cocoa goes up in the past was often caused by artificially reducing supply. Just to make more money.

Anyway, cocoa prices are not set the cost of buying and then a certain margin on top. Meaning, that farmers weren't being paid enough was on purpose and to make even more money.

  • So you shouldn't take super high interest loans to buy crap online?

In Netherlands they limited the maximum interest rate. Plus borrowers should check if people are credit worthy without that credit score. Basically it is assumed there are enough people who are terrible with their finances. The last bit is preferable over victim blaming.

  • Sometimes the different USB ports are backed by different manufacturers. Pretty much all of my USB outputs are a bit unreliable. Apparently a hardware issue. There are two that use a different chipset. Those are the only reliable ones.

So maybe check the various USB ports to see if there's a difference.

  • They shouldn't of being heading towards the bridge to begin with.

You never noticed that there's a port that these vessels go to? They need to pass the bridge to get there.

Suggest to read up a bit because there's various causes and it's much better to be angry at the right causes.

  • Likely coming out because of the instability at Red Hat. Newey doesn't limit himself to just designing the car, he has an opinion on the entire team. So if a different team is better structured or could be better structured than Red Bull I could see him switching. At least, that's what I noticed from his book.
