Thanks for the explanation, but that is absolutely crazy. Literally every word of it is fabricated by humans trying to figure out some way of justifying the control of others. Not one single concept is backed by any factual evidence. It's all just a fairy tale, or mythology. It's astonishing that anyone living in the modern world believes any of it actually true, and that they live their entire lives by it.

Even if you believe that this is all the work of "God," how can any human claim to know what God actually thinks or wants? The entire concept of religion was created by humans who claim to know what God wants from us, and anyone who says that is automatically a conman.

Interesting points. HitlerPig is planning a big birthday celebration for himself, complete with military parade, but they haven't said a word about what should be an enormous national celebration next year.

I do think they will suspend elections, because our elections are too separated. We don't have one election, we have 50. Russia, NK, etc. only have a single election to rig, and the guy at the top controls it. I'm positive MAGA rigged the last one, but they had the help of the richest tech Oligarch in the world, and at least one foreign leader, all of whom were working toward that for years, and they were only trying to control the election of a single candidate. A Congressional election would require successfully rigging hundreds of elections simultaneously. If they screw up only a handful, power shifts to the Dems, giving them investigative, subpoena, and arrest powers, and they can't have that.

Suspending elections will cause a huge, historic uproar, but it is also declares the inevitable to the world and history - America is no longer a Democratic nation, it is controlled by MAGA for all time. Just like Israel has decided that now is finally the time to clear out Gaza, MAGA believes that now is finally the time to take America for themselves.

The reason they will wait until next summer is because of the timing. If they declare Martial Law now, and suspend elections (the real objective), they have more than a year to fight about it, and get the courts and the SCOTUS to rule on it, with plenty of time to deal with the aftermath.

But if they just spend the next year escalating it into chaos, then declare Martial Law next Fall, and suspend elections, it will be too late for the courts to do anything about it before Election Day passes, and once it passes, it's over.

They could impose Martial Law now, and just not suspend elections until next Fall, but they need the people to get really fired up first, so they will feel more justified in suspending the election. Martial Law now would only suppress the attendance at protests, and right now the MAGA Nazis want them as big and violent as possible.

This summer they light the fuse. The bomb goes off next summer.

Valid suggestions. My suggestion was just a starting point, and yours offers some good adjustments. I worry the educational standards being different in all states may make it harder for those in some states to pass the test.

Besides, I don't think we want some schlub off the street that barely knows an 8th grade level of history/civics running our country. I want people who take it seriously, and have sought further knowledge, education, and insight into the government. I don't see anything wrong with experts managing the country. Part of the problem we have now is that we have evil morons whose entire political and historical education has come from the Conservative Propaganda Machine, and believe that Intolerance is a virtue.

I have always had a problem with the word "elites." Somehow it has become a term of disparagement, often a dog whistle for Jews. Oxford dictionary defines it as:

a select group that is superior in terms of ability or qualities to the rest of a group or society.

Isn't that who we want running our country?

Portland doesn't control anything in the US. It's not even among the top 10 cities. LA is a totally different deal.

Even LA won't mean the end of the government, but a military attack on one of the biggest cities in America is a enormous warning to the resistance that the MAGA Nazis are willing to do ANYTHING.

If any other nation launched a military attack on LA, we would absolutely consider it an act of war, and if the MAGA Nazis use the military against American citizens exercising their 1st Amendment rights, ALL American citizens should also consider it an act of war against us by our own government.

No, they'll keep escalating through next summer. By then, we'll have had hyperinflation, food shortages, Luigi's trial, deportations of naturalized/ birthright citizens, arrests of elected officials, etc. and things will get really ugly. That's when the MAGA Nazis will have their Tiananmen Square moment, probably in multiple cities, and HitlerPig will declare Martial Law, and suspend the Midterm election for the first time in American history. That will protect his Congressional majorities, and keep the Democrats from gaining any investigative, subpoena, or arrest powers. Once elections are suspended, he's president forever.

THAT will be the end.

How is a peaceful protest in LA an "Insurrection," while violently attacking cops and raiding the Capitol to stop the certification of the vote, is not?

People peacefully assembling to exercise their Constitutional rights, and the guy who planned, led, and launched an actual Insurrection which obviously attacked hundreds of cops wants to claim THAT'S a rebellion.

It's about legal timing, at which HitlerPig is a virtuoso, due to plenty of practice. If he declares Martial Law too early, he gives the courts time to rule against him when he suspends the election, which is the primary objective.

So he will use the next year and a few months to keep amping up the rhetoric, the atrocities, the violence, until it is out of control next summer. He'll allow the primary race to go on, giving MAGA the opportunity to spread their propaganda, and finally cancel the election only a few weeks before.

Until then, it's all about escalation.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense either. How does dying by torture "absolve" (the word you were reaching for) humankind from their "sins," and what sins are they talking about anyway? Sins are only religious rules, and if religion is a just a human construct, then they aren't valid anyway.

I've never seen a religious message of any kind that made logical sense.

Most evenings, I sit on my front porch overlooking a quiet pond, and play my guitar for an hour or so, accompanied by birdsong. That's my religion.

Exactly. ALL religion is a human construct to explain stuff that neolithic goatherders didn't understand. Some of them were a talented storytellers, and made up all that stuff to entertain their bored colleagues.

Yeah, none of that makes sense. How much do you have to disengage your intelligence to somehow believe in that baloney enough to actually rule your life by it? Seriously weird.

Keeping God away from Earth is a good idea. The God that is described in the Bible is a monster.

Fairy tales

As an old guy, I still do not understand how Jesus being tortured to death somehow absolves all our "sins" (whatever that means), and keeps us from "unending death" (whatever that means). Nothing about religion, ANY religion, makes sense.

I am open-minded enough to acknowledge that we know almost nothing about the Universe, and there may be some entity beyond our puny human comprehension, but ALL religion is simply a clumsy human construct attempting to make the unexplainable understandable for humans that require protection from the scary mysteries of the Universe.

The government just declassified documents that describe the first time humans made contact with an alien race. We found out that not only do the aliens know about Jesus, he revisits them every year for a big celebration. "Every year?” the humans asked, "We've been waiting for him to come back for over 2000 years! How did you get him to return?"

"I don't know, we're just friends. The first time he visited, we gave him a big bag of our finest chocolates. What did you guys do?"

As a bored kid in church, this is a question I pondered many times. Why would we choose to honor the method of torture that caused his death?
