  • I suppose dragging him there, it’s even in his own chuffing country, along with some others, is out of the question.

  • I have brambles sprouting up all over the place from where they were left to spread by the previous occupant. And that sodding bindweed stuff.

If it wasn’t for my wife it’d be full of veg.

  • Pretty good for the first three quarters, and then (for me anyway) it went a bit too far fetched.

Going to look at some more of his work now.

  • I keep seeing things like this, then an item on the news that says sales in Spain are up.

    It’s not all good news.

  • Just finished reading The Object by Joshua T Calvert. Good timing!

PS. It was recommended here in Beehaw 😉

  • It must be the cheapest or cost efficient. Can't be spending money if they don't have to. Yet another reason to stop eating meat and dairy.

  • I know people don't like Windows 11, but that's a bit much.

  • Surprised nobody mentioned this earlier.

  • Right, I make that (using the lowest figure) over 40 launches per month, every month for the 2 years. Anyone who thinks that is plausible is a tad optimistic.

  • I thought he was inside?

No doubt the suckers that support him will be bleating about the unfairness of it all.

    Talk about snowflakes.

  • From the article:

'The aircraft’s most notable capability is its ability to deploy large-scale drone swarms mid-flight, potentially overwhelming enemy defenses by sheer volume and unpredictability. State-released video footage simulated the dramatic visual of a synchronized UAV launch sequence.

Drone swarms offer strategic advantages in surveillance, intelligence gathering, and real-time reconnaissance, particularly in contested regions such as the Taiwan Strait. Analysts warn that such a capability could play a central role in a future conflict scenario between China and Taiwan.

In addition to drone launches, the Jiu Tan can also be equipped with cruise missiles and air-to-air weapons like the PL-12E, further expanding its offensive potential.'

    A big difference.

  • Exactly, we shouldn't even be at this point. Russia should be a windswept wasteland.

  • Oh I don't doubt people were killed.

It's just describing them as being martyred puts a bias on the article. I'm inclined to see it as a.propoganda piece.

The whole thing is bad enough as it is without stirring up religious hatred even more.

  • I'm always wary when an article tells you that people have been 'martyred' when describing casualties on one side but not the other.

They've usually got an agenda to push and numbers will be exaggerated and not always the truth.

  • Eddies in the space time continuum.

  • It's too late to change things now, but we shouldn't have used the term 'sailing' for vessels without sails.

Saying that, I'd like to see Zuck sailing off into the sunset.

Or the edge of the world, and count the turtles all the way down.

  • I (currently, may change in the future) use Mastodon via Vivaldi Social. For me I find Mastodon as a whole rather 'clunky' and often when trying to reply to a post get the 'need to sign in with xxxx.social' message and that just puts me off using it. I don't want to sign up on lots of different instances or whatever they are called. This may be what stops more people taking it up. I may have missed a setting somewhere that allows this, but it's not obvious. Not come across any issues with moderation.

Don't use Pixelfed, had a look but not that interesting. Then again I don't use Instagram and never have used TikTok.

Haven't used FB for years so can't comment. Never really used Twitter.

For me Beehaw seems to have it just right.

The only other social media I use is BlueSky. I know it's not the fediverse, but it's much more polished and easier to use than Mastodon.
