  • Is that actually true, or just internet speculation? I remember reading counter points that other devices with magnets used Hall effect sticks without issues.

The thing is, even the new Pro controller uses potentiometers for the sticks, so I doubt magnetic interference to Hall effect sticks was even a consideration in the Nintendo engineers minds. They were going full potentiometer from day 1.

  • There’s a lot of good reasons it won’t… they need a lite version… smaller, lighter, better ergo and no detachable joycons, for less money. The switch 1 lite is the version all my extended family double and triple dipped on. It was just kid friendly.

They release a version like that 2 years from now, and there’s a good chance they can keep the sales going into a new generation of kids.

  • I’m finally playing TOTK, now that it’s not a stuttery mess. Also looking forward to Metroid Prime 4 later this year.

But just in general, it’s nice to have a more powerful machine with a bigger, nicer screen to play thru my old library.

  • Reasons why companies with union jobs might provide better services due to employees being more personable and reliable:

    • Higher wages and better benefits attract people more serious about their work
    • Higher wages and better benefits reduce stress in the life of employees, making them more personable on the job
    • Unions negotiate employee contracts to limit things like quotas, resulting in lower stress, happier employees

There are probably other reasons too, since I’m just going off the cuff here, but it absolutely makes sense to me that the company with non-union jobs in this industry provides the worst service.

  • Yeah these guys outsourced all their CS reps to India, so trying to get through to someone helpful was like talking to a brick wall.

At least now there’s 2 companies I know to never again use.

  • They “lost” a $1300 computer monitor I was returning because it had multiple dead pixels. Tracking was weird, there was a “delivery exception” and it showed up 3 days later than originally expected.

Monitor company said the box arrived empty.

FedEx wouldn’t even talk to me about it because I wasn’t the one who ordered the shipping, Monitor company was. Monitor company accused me of sending them the empty box, routing me to their fraud department, unwilling to act as an intermediary to FedEx.

Had to dispute the charge with my credit card to get it resolved, a process that took about 4 months. Thank god for AmEx.

  • It’s like the packages get to the last mile warehouse a day early, so the system says “it’s here, let’s send it a day early”. Then some idiot in either the warehouse or on the truck sees the package and says “oh this wasn’t scheduled to be delivered till tomorrow? Fuck that, it’s not going on the truck till tomorrow”

Happened so many times for me with FedEx now, I just disregard any updates they send.

  • Sure, we could say viscous liquids can use mass. I’d say most liquids with a viscosity close to water will be easier to measure out by volume than risk over pouring when going right into weigh boat / mixing bowl.
