  • Oh, yes please!

It would be disastrous at first, but Europe would recover much stronger than before.

We would have to do a lot to catch up but the seeds are there and they cannot grow because they are in the shadow of the US industry.

The US giants have money and userbase to outperform anything Europe has at the moment and when they cannot outperform some company, they buy it. If Trump ever tries to cut US Tech off, European companies would grow rapidly to fill the void.

  • I am old enough and geek enough to be bothered by the use of the word "WiFi" instead of the Internet or just network.

It's only WiFi if you connect the wireless router at the end.

Edit: just noticed mention of the "antenna at the roof" on the page, but I still don't think it's WiFi, "WiFi" is a name of the technology that allows wireless access by multiple devices. I think it's rather radio communication between the router and the access point. They basically use radio waves instead of the cable, it was often used in rural areas in my country, where putting cables would be too expensive.

  • The good part is, that none of the two is a far right extremist.

Nawrocki is remotely controlled by the same person who has the remote to the President. Trzaskowski is controlled by the current government. So no matter who wins we should not expect any extreme turn.

The bad part is, that the third and the fourth place were far right extremists, who in previous elections would get, like, 5 percent total, now got 21 percent combined, which gets me worried for the next parliamentary elections.

  • I heard some banks encrypt single characters of the password separately (no idea how that would be safe) they often ask to provide random characters from the password instead of the entire password.

My bank only accepts up to 20 characters. It doesn't validate it... The login page simply ignores all characters beyond 20th. So I didn't even know that it cut my password until I tried to log into the mobile app, which replaces the last character when you type more than 20... that was confusing 20 minutes when I didn't know why I can't log into my mobile app.

  • I tried it first when I was 30+, and tried it a few times at parties. Got a good laugh once and then a weird trip once... All other times were just meh, and since I never smoked anything, my throat hurt. The result was, that I stopped and then convinced my friends to stop it as well

I think it's much easier to handle when you are an adult.

So, additional plus - when it's legal, it's easier to restrict access for a certain age group (let's make it at least 21+. I heard it's particularly dangerous for teens)

  • It's even dumber than that. Because, using the same parallel, he didn't do it only because she kicked him in the balls and pulled out a knife (meaning: Ukraine defended itself, it was not Moscow's decision to stop).

  • Yup, initially the first comment was not in a table but was a list in format "[run over]-[revard]"... Stupid me, assumed these were penalty points.

Then you changed it to the table format, I realised my mistake... And then had to learn how to put tablets to Lemmy comments (I didn't know we could do that!)
