  • I don’t understand it. It’s like people don’t just want AI to be the next big thing, they NEED it to be the next big thing. Suggesting that current AI is about as useful as NFTs is personally insulting for some reason.

  • Across platforms — YouTube, Rumble, Twitch, Kick, Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok — right-leaning online shows accounted for roughly 82% of the total following of the online shows we assessed.

Yeah, it kinda seems like they focused on places already known for having right leaning algorithms. I would be curious to see what, for instance, NPRs numbers are in comparison.

  • You are getting downvoted for your wording I think but I believe it’s worth pointing this stuff out especially now that people are trying to “restore” the “meritocracy”.

This one writer’s competency isn’t the question. The question is how many others won’t get a chance because this person already had a foot in the door.

  • Personally, I am just not going to use the smallest screen I own to do most of the tasks they are pushing AI for. They can keep making them bigger and it’s still just going to be a phone first. If this is what they want then why can’t I just have the Watch and an iPad?

  • Your comment makes it seem that you haven’t spent much time in the suburban south near any mega churches.

Those who haven’t already will gladly trade in their Escalades and Cayennes for a Model X if their pastor tells them to.

  • Conservative means to keep the status quo. We have only had a few years without defacto apartheid in this country and that is the status quo that they are trying to go back to. These people are absolutely right wing conservatives and please don’t let them fool you into thinking that there is a difference.

  • The purpose of the Electoral College was to guarantee that the president was elected by the states and not the people. So you are half right, the electoral college can interfere if it’s not what the states want. While there are some states that want to always go with the popular vote not all are on board.

  • I am a little confused then as you seemed to me to be implying that American as a cultural identity precludes Oklahoman as a for instance but that European would not preclude Scottish as a for instance.

It wasn’t until 1965 that the right of non white citizens to vote was protected and it has been a constant fight since. Currently the administration is arguing that Native Americans arent citizens at all.

In the mean time it’s probably worth pointing out that nobody’s vote for president really counts for anything because of the electoral college. On top of that many of us, including myself, live in ‘winner take all’ states where the person with a plurality or majority of popular votes is awarded all of the electoral votes of that state.

In my lifetime there have been 9 presidential elections; 5 have been won by Democrats, with all 5 also winning the national popular vote. 4 have been Republicans, however only two of those elections were won by the candidate who won the popular vote.
