  • This whole budget thing only goes to the end of March or something which is insane. Like this is definitely becoming the norm where we end up in this same spot every few months and it’s getting worse. Pretty soon this is going to end up as a monthly battle of whether or not the US will pay its bills.

  • Thanks so much I had not been tracking this case but it pissed me off to no end when I heard that Vizio was refusing to uphold the GPL. They are more than happy to greatly benefit from the labors of open source development but the second they have to do the smallest step in support of the GPL, they fight it. I doubt there is anything overly interesting that they could release. My mind is assuming they don’t want anyone to see the actual level of their data gathering.

  • I am remote and happy. If I wanted a new job title or new/additional responsibilities I would just switch jobs as that is easier than pushing for a promotion whether or not I was in person or remote.

  • That article was really well done and puts forth what really should be the only main argument about the topic. If Trump supporters want him to run they need to overturn the insurrection element of the fourteenth amendment.

  • Unless this was a journalist, I think he should probably just tough it out. He should have known better than to go to Russia especially now. We should not be trading another arms dealer or Russian spy for someone who doesn’t have the survival instinct to not put his hand on a stove.

  • It was during the pandemic that he started going off the rails. It was around that time that he started complaining about things being woke and I felt like this was coming. It was the initially smaller comments until I stopped watching as he kept focusing on how things were too woke and it just got super annoying. Not surprised. Others are saying this shit started earlier but I didn’t notice till like 2020/2021. Haven’t watched since then but guessing it’s gotten worse.

  • I remember the first time I went. A vendor took us there for a business lunch as a get-to-know-you. The other guys were excited but I had never gone before. I distinctly remember my disappointment at the buffalo chicken sandwich and thinking these cannot be wing people. The waitresses were pretty but it just seemed weird to me that they dressed like it was still the 80s (in the mid 2000s) and the environment almost seemed to promote sexual harassment. Like it was a sexual harassment training ground or something.

  • Since there no other comments yet, I’ve always had the idea to pick anyone running across any race in the US under the democratic socialist party and donate the max amount to each of them individually. I think all the max values are under $2,500 per individual but so many races are in small towns and whatnot where that could go a long way. I mean folk like Bernie Sanders would also get the max value per individual but it will go further for the downstream races. I have zero background or knowledge in this area so maybe that is just super naive.

  • Wow that review is being copy/pasted everywhere and reposted to multiple review sites under many usernames. I thought the movie was pretty good and it’s based on a book that doesn’t answer the questions that the viewer is asking. That is part of the story l, not REALLY knowing what is going on. It’s like the whole theme, not to know for sure. It mentions the military in the final scenes so we have a guess on what they are up to.

  • As an off road enthusiast, it is always super sketchy how there are random folks with guns shooting as I pass by. They have their backs to the trails so are shooting away but still, you can sometimes spot them with a case of beer lining up their empties. Ain’t no one going to say anything to them so I imagine that is a reason it is so prolific.

  • It’s pretty common in AZ that off-road trails where you take vehicles double as target practice areas. On the side of a trail will be an area with backstops (basically the side of a mountain or just dirt hills) where people setup targets and shoot. The desert is a big place out there but there are also a lot of random dirt bikes and ATVs around. Supposed to be the responsibility of the people doing target shooting to watch out for people.

  • This is a great recommendation as sometimes I get motivated to do new stuff but can’t figure out what to do. There are the basics like learn a new language or musical instrument but for something a bit different it makes sense to hit up a large base of examples for ideas. A couple of years ago I took a first responder certification course so I could volunteer with the local search and rescue. That was incredibly fun. I didn’t know that was a thing until I spent like three days searching for new examples of things to learn.
