  • The U.S. has always been a threat to democracies all over the planet. Look up the number of countries they have supported right-wing dictators in and coups against democratically elected left-leaning leaders. tRump has just bought the totalitarianism home, and dropped the mask for all the world to see.

People need to remember history and not get fooled if the mask ever goes back on.

  • “The Earth is not dying, it is being killed, and those who are killing it have names and addresses.”

    ~Utah Phillips

Inb4 some pedant quibbles that "the planet itself is not dying." Yeah, but we and our fellow creatures are. It should be understood that is what Mr. Phillips meant.

  • The problem is humanity is taking most of the other species in the world with it. Just the methane/permafrost feedback loop out of dozens of feedback loops will usher in the level of warming and ensuing extinctions experienced during the Permian/Triassic die off.

The ruling elite are incinerating all of us for profit, and they don't give a shit.

  • I am more afraid of the zionist entity already HAVING nukes than Iran getting nukes. What right does a country that has refused to join the NPT have in enforcing it on others? The zionist entity has invaded everyone around them, and instigated wars with people nowhere near them. Iran has not invaded anyone as far as I know. Also, Iran is not currently slaughtering thousands of women and children through starvation and bombing.

  • A nation is only as strong as its people. A progressive government would define "defense" spending as anything protecting the health and prosperity of their people. So 5% of GDP for taking care of the population should not be that bad. If NATO disagrees they can go die mad.

  • Genocide is violation of international law. Support of an entity committing genocide is also a violation of international law.

Canada needs to start obeying the law and absolutely oppose genocide and those committing it.

  • Doesn't matter to me, I boycott EVERYTHING from the apartheid genocidal state. Full BDS until all of Palestine is free. And I have added the genocide funder and enabler the USA to my boycott list.

  • tRump is just a symptom. The USA is and always has been an oligarchy, founded on genocide and grown through slavery, patriarchy and misogyny. The original constitution gave ALL political power to Rich White Males and only superficial changes have been made over the last 250 years, the real power still remains with the oligarchs. tRump has just dropped the mask for the world to see what a fascist shit-stain of a country the U.S. really is at its core. The world (and Canada) will be extremely unwise to ever trust them again no matter which faction of the oligarchy is in power.

  • They also fund the incineration of our planet through investments in coal and oil. I moved everything out of that bank and into my local credit union years ago. Fuck all the big pollution supporting banks, take care of your local community!

  • To have a nation so tied to gun ownership and the talk and laws associated with it not immediately choosing to pick up arms is baffling.

The most vociferous gun rights "people" are in support of the fascism.
