I don’t know about that. I think he just wanted the job on his resume. A book deal or a job with a lobbying firm pays more to a former Speaker of the House than it does to some congressman from Bakersfield.

Don’t underestimate the power of him whipping his followers into a froth through the power of suggestion (the “meddlesome priest” approach). He has a large number of adherents who are dangerously unhinged and seriously well-armed. All he needs to do is drop a few names on Truth Social or Twitter (at least while those platforms still exist).

My Prime subscription is due to renew in the next few months, and I’m going to let it lapse. It’s getting hard to find genuine, trustworthy products on Amazon. If I wanted no-name crap drop-shipped from China, I could probably get it on Alibaba cheaper. For everything else, I’ll buy locally when possible, and buy from the manufacturer otherwise.
