If the flipper bought your home, renovated it, and sold it to make a profit, then there are people who could have just bought the same home for cheaper (what the flipper paid) and paid the same as the flipper. They're just middlemen.
It is on FF and Edge because Google pays them a ton of money. Every person who chooses Chrome instead of FF is more money for Google because they don't need to pay themselves to make Google the default.
What you're doing is called "making shit up". If you have a problem with their talking point then address it, but don't make shit up about who they are or why they're saying what they're saying.
IIRC the content is on multiple. If there's a single user on lemmy.world subscribing to content from somewhere.else's foo community, then foo will be synced to lemmy.world and if somewhere.else is taken down it will remain on lemmy.world.
But someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, it isn't just about servers going offline. If a single server does something bad, you can just switch to a different one and enjoy the same content you've been seeing.
It's not even about oil either - it's mainly about unregulated capitalism. We've created vast oceans of plastic junk because people are lazy and want the cheapest things in the world. I guess it really is a government by the people and for the people.
But why would an ad company want to block ad blockers? That makes no sense...
